Well i havent been eatting much this week i don't have an appatite. I got on the scales this morning expecting to see that it had gone down, but low and behold wouldn't you know it i have gained 2lbs GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Whats this about? I was looseing good when i was eatting the crap, and now that i quite, per your instructions lol, I have gained!!! I feel better now that i got that stuff out of my system, but i can't handle seeing the scale go in the wrong direction!! I need some advice people im really mad at myself right now, i dont know what im doing wrong now!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAWN

Hi Dawn, You probably already know this but if you don't get in enough calories, you won't lose weight. Your body goes into starvation mode and holds on to every lb it can. I'm glad you've avoided the empty calories but you really need to get in protein to keep yourself from losing muscle mass. In time, less muscle mass means lower metabolism. At your stage of surgery, because the volume of food your pouch can hold right now, almost every bite you take should have as much protein as possible. (My favorites were boiled eggs, cheese, peanut butter, Mozarella sticks with a slice of ham wrapped around it.) Eating small meals loaded with protein keeps your body from reacting like you are starving. This will keep the lbs flowing off, help you keep your hair and your metabolism steady. Even if you have to eat on a schedule because you don't get hungry, make every bite count with protein. Hang in there, Elesha

Thanks Elesha, i guess i got to just force myself to open mouth incert protein and chew and swallow!!!! It's so hard to eat when you dont want to almost as hard as not eatting when thats all you want to do! DAWN

You need to get at least 800 cals a day to keep yourself from getting malnurished. Your not gonna lose if you dont kick start that metabolism in the mornings with protein and continue to have protein thru the day. Your not doing your muscles any good either by not getting enough protein. Your hair is gonna fall out in clumps and you may have to be put in the hospital with a tube to feed you. Then you really will gain weight. Is it time for your period? I usually gain a few when its time. Its almost impossible to not lose weight at your stage in this but there is more involved than just losing. You want to do it the healthy way and not starve yourself or eat bad foods. This is the time to build good eating habits. A protein filled breakfast (eggs and bacon)... try to avoid the toast and grits. You are not eating enough and your body is holding on to everything it can and it wont let go until it sees you arent really starving and the only way it will know this is if you pick up your cals. Your body is used to getting 2000-3000 cals a day and when you drop back to 400-500 it knows something isnt right and its not gonna burn anything cause it is trying to help you survive. You have to pick them up and let your body know you arent stranded on a desserted island somewhere and you do have access to food and then it will start to burn them again. We werent fussing at you before for eating too much food. I didnt think it was too much... I thought it was too much of the wrong things.

Excuse me.... Lunch .....as you call it. Girl... your in the South OK. We have Breakfast, Dinner & Supper Lunch is something you go on..... Like "Going To Lunch" Sweetie I Luvs ya !!! You are a Doll. OMG !!! That is so funny, I was talking to Dawn. Oh He!! !!! See the truth is out.... I talk to myself I told you those rolls were talking to me. They have me confused Lunch ??? DINNER !!! I'm gonna have to find my "Southern Ways" list & post it I see. hehe
