Weeeeeeee and a question...

Janet called me today!!! I will be going to see Ann Blackwell today at 3pm. Dr. Carson is hecka booked up. Janet also said I will get to see Dr. Whitehead sometime next week! I'm bouncing off the walls right now cuz this is finally starting to move in the right direction...towards a date! Ok so my question is two fold and for those of you who used Dr. Whitehead...A. When do they start getting the OK from the insurance? and B. If the insurance doesn't stall how long between seeing him next week and finding out a date? Thanks for the replies! Keli

Hey keli, You must be soooooooo excited!!! I did not file ins as mine would not pay and I had my first appt with dr whitehead then end of June. I then saw the head dr about two weeks later around the first of July. Took two weeks for her to get her stuff back to Dr W. so lets say when they got that paper work back I saw the dietician like the next day and I got my date about a week after that. So for me it was about a month and a half from first time I saw dr until surgery day. (aug17th 04) I wish the best of luck to you. head dr is the shrink. you have to have a pysch eval reagardless of anything. i think her name was hartwig. Denise

Dr. Hartwig was not very obese sensitive in my opinion. I didnt particuraly care for her. She didnt understand obesity and I believe she thinks its all because we are lazy cows. My sister used another one that they have been using and she liked him alot. I cant think of his name though.

Congratulations... I like Ann Blackwell at Renassaince. She seems really nice and she has been to several of our meetings. They usually have the nutritionist and psyc eval on hand before they submit to insurance since it is usually one of their requirements. Good luck. My insurance denied me twice so from beginning to end it took me about 7 months... LONG months.
