O MY GOSH!!!
Hey guys, I am finally able to come online and let you know how I am doing after my surgery. My surgery was July 14th and I was a success. I will say though, this is very hard!!!!! I am having trouble getting allof my liquids down. I am too full to drink every 30 minutes. The pain, I can handle most of the time, but the drinking is killing me, please give me some pointers. I start the day drinking protein drinks (Isopur) I like it and I drink that until I get all of my protein for the day, and then drink other things. Am I doing right? I am excited to find out how much I lost on MOnday when I go to get my staples out. Oh yeah!! for those of you that went in on my goodie bag, thank you very much. Thank you Melissa for coming to meet me. I look forward to meeting the rest of you in August.
It was so nice meeting you. And I am glad you are doing so well. I hope your recovery will continue to be a smooth one. If you need anything just let us know. Keep us posted on your progress and let us know how your appointment goes getting the staples out and getting to see how much you have lost.

Hi Renee...I did not get a chance to check on you but I knew you were doing okay cause Melissa visited you and said you were sitting up in the bed not long after surgery. I was not sitting up until late that night and only briefly. I think I was given too much anesthesia. I could barely function til my 3rd day. I think by Saturday I was okay.
I saw Dr. Whitehead Friday night at the Saengar and asked him how you were doing. He said yuo were doing great. Of course you were... you were in good hands.
I dont know if you will like any of those coffee shakes but I liked them alot better than the other shakes. They were not chalky and thick like the milky ones. My mother brought her laptop and I posted online here.
Dont sweat over all the liquids. You WONT be able to get them all in. They make u drink so much though because you dont want to get dehydrated or malnurished. If things are still the same when you get your staples out at 10 days they will release you to eat soft foods. That was wonderful. I never thought potatos could be so good. Just dont be stupid like me and try chicken or sausage yet...give that some time.
We thought we knew you from your picture but the girl we thought was you was at the meeting on Monday. Still preop so we knew it wasnt you.. haha...
Glad you are doing well. Sip Sip Sip... Sucks I know but you gotta.... You are doing great getting your protein in first. Thats the way its supposed to be..Protein first! Words to live by.
hi renee i am onw of dr whiteheads patients as well and i am so glad that ur surgery went good dr whitehead is the best he has no idea what he has done for all of us and u know what.... he reallly cares, most dr's are just that drs but he knows all of us and cares about us and the job that he is doing....giving us our life back and us back to our families. there will be special crowns in heaven for dr whitehead!!! im sure all of us would agree.
like christine said, dont stress about gettting all the liquids in....mainly the protein and just do ur best....its hard but it gets better day by day!!getting those itchy staples out are the best. i had mine in for about 5 days longer than i was supposed too bc dr whitehead had had a death in the family and my appointment was resechuled i was about to die!!!anyway we are here for u if u have any questions. and i was told u can mix those isopures with some crystal light to make the aftertaste not so bad bc i remember how old the same old drinks get!!! anyway keep us informed!
