i totally feel u on the crying i did it too i cried for a week straight my husband didnt know if i was gonna make it!!! i hated him for being able to eat food but it wasnt his fault. once i started being able to eat some instant potatoes which i did at about a week with nurse apporval it was better it still wasnt dominoes but it felt like it wasnt the end of the world. what protein shakes are u drinking? i did isopures from gnc they tast like watered down koolaid for the first few weeks and i heard that u can dilute them in crystal light and the aftertate isnt so bad.u just have to keep ur eye on the prize and remember that in a few weeks u will be eating normal food and still be skinny and thats the best feeling of all when u get on that scale. i am no longer afraid of the scale and thats a big accomplishment for me!! i walked outside alot and at the mall it made me feel better and helped with the crying i think if u stay in the bed or inside alot it makes u weepy. so try getting som sunshine too but not too much heat this time of year ull pass out. hope that helps girlee and dont feel bad we have all been there. crystal 229/150/125

You can cry on our shoulder anytime. The best thing for me to say is this---like Arlies says IT WILL BE BETTER TOMORROW. It will get better. Right now you are just caught up in what is going on rightnow and also your body is going through so much. Your emotions are wacko and hey!!!!!!!!You just had major surgery. God out and do something for yourself. At least go for a dirve. Let the windows down and just chill. Get through each day and know tomorrow will be better. Write back and let us know how you are doing. Jane

Hey Sara, Bless your Heart. (((HUGS))) You seem to be at the end of your rope right now. Tie a knot & hang on doll. It will get better according to everyone who has ever had this surgery. Have you tried to just take a very very small sip & wait a bit to make sure it stays down ? Try not to watch any TV commercials or shows about food. I know tha****ching TV makes it harder to avoid those things, so I'd put in a movie if possible. Or if you have to, turn the TV off for a few minutes when commercials come on. Also, ask everyone in your house right now to please stop eating around you until you can get a grip on this thing. Smelling other food has to be hard & makes you want it more. Do you have a recliner ? That would help some. I know that it isn't your bed, therefor it isn't the same. Maybe take your bed sheets & covers and place them on the chair & cover up with your comforters etc. Use your pillows that you normally use. Try & make it "your special place". Hope some of these will help you some. If you need to talk let me know. I'm here for you !!! Tammy

Sara you can always give me a call. I know how you feel about the whole getting tired of broth and jello. I was so happy when I ate mashed potatoes. (my husband didn't understand it) but you will see just give it time, your pouch does not need to be pushed. Give those cuts some time to heal. Some one said it already but I am going to say it again look at the future and see that in a couple weeks you will be eating mushy foods and then you start testing your pouch with regular food. Eventually you will be eating all regular food and you wont remeber these days. I will email you my phone number in case you want to talk. I hope you feel better. *~* Iris *~*

Sara Honey, hang in there. I know how you feel, I cried and felt like I made the worst mistake of my life, and I had just had surgery the day before, cried like a hounddog to Judy, our bariatric coordinator/RN who works in the surgeon's office and she came visited me every single day post op in the room till I left. She told me, not only am I missing the food, it's them hormones, baby!! Don't be ashamed, cry it out and just remember all of us here telling, you that it will be better tomorrow.. each and every day gets better, you're totally normal and believe me, EVERY ONE OF US posties know EXACTLY how you feel, and it WILL get better. I promise, I promise, I promise, sweetie !!! {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} Along with everyone else, you know, you can call me too, any time. Just hang in there... and don't feel bad about crying on our shoulder. That's what we're here for . ~Andie~

GET OUT OF THE HOUSE! Are you getting out at all? That is how I was and I had to get out. I went back to work after 2 weeks cause I was down all the time and I was back and forth to the refridgerator. When will your doc put you on soft foods? The broth and shakes got REAL old REAL quick. I know the feeling but you gotta let that pouch heal. Maybe if the weather is pretty 2morrow I can talk my friend into coming to the coast. She lives in Wiggins and we were planning on swimming and grilling but the coast isnt that far and we can spend the day on the beach doing the same thing and you and your kids can join us. Let me know what you think about that. I am dying to meet you anyway.

Bless your darling little heart. I started out boo-hooing in the hospital and kept it up for a while....something to do with anethesia and being off meds the few days for surgery....Hang in there. It DOES get better! Hormones also get stored in those fat cells and as they are emptying out, wild hormones are being turned loose and make you nuts.....SO HANG ON!!! Smoochies Arlies
