HI ALL YOU MISSISSIPPIANS (AND NONE), I AM STILL VERY MUCH PRE-OP, BUT I WAS CHECKED AT WORK FOR SUGAR. EVERYONE ELSE HAD BELOW A 100, SHE SAID MINE WAS 182 AND I WAS BORDERLINE DIABETIC, WHAT THE HECK DOES THAT MEAN EXACTLY? I THINK ONE OF THE SYMPTOMS WAS SUDDEN WEIGHT LOSS. HA! THAT AIN'T HAPPENING, NEVER HAS! BUT SERIOUSLY, WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS? SHE TOLD ME I SHOULD GO TO THE DOC, BUT GOOD GOSH, I AM ALREADY IN TO THE DOCS & HOSPITAL FOR 2 SLEEP STUDIES AND ALL THAT CHOLESTEROL TESTING ABOUT 2,000.00 THAT IS ENOUGH STRESS TO GIVE MYSELF ANOTHER HEART ATTACK! ANYWAY IF SOME OF YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT IT MEANS, PLEASE LET ME KNOW, SOMETIMES WHEN I LOOK UP SOMETHING ON THE NET, I GET WAY TOO MUCH INFO TO ABSORB. THANK ALL OF YOU IN ADVANCE. LOOKS LIKE I GOT A LITTLE LONG WINDED! SORRY.

Hi Brenda this is a page I copied from www.diabetes.com it is very easy to understand. Please check out the website. But remember none of us here on the boards is a doctor. Please call them and make an appointment to see yours. Diabetes Symptoms Many people with type 2 diabetes never show any signs. But some people do show symptoms. The most common are: Urinating a lot Feeling thirsty often Losing weight without trying Feeling hungry a lot Having blurry vision Other symptoms are when you: Feel tingling or numbness in your hands or feet Feel tired Have very dry skin Have sores that heal slowly Have infections often These symptoms are caused by high blood sugar. Some may seem minor. But, if you manage your blood sugar now, you may reduce your risk of complications from diabetes later. Also of Interest Testing your blood sugar isn't hard. We'll show you two ways. Learn how to handle the ups and downs of blood sugar. And this is type 2 there is also a type 1. Hope this helps some.

Cut out the sugar and the carbs NOW!!! You need to find a diabetic diet on the internet if you can't make it back to the docs. You could prolly control it with food because 182 is high, but not too high....you prolly won't get medicine for it at the docs, but a diet....but next appt ASK!!!! Smoochies Arlies
