our first SG meeting

On 07/12/05, Tuesday night we had our first support group meeting in the Starkville/Columbus area! There was a total 7 of us and everyone there was post - op. What a GREAT experience for each of us. We didn't have a speaker or a specific subject. We just enjoyed getting to know each other, sharing our experiences thus far and sharing tips. I believe that we are going to have a wonderful group and we know that others are planning to come. So many people have called our group leader about this and said they plan on coming to the next one and are really excited about it as well. Those of us that were there last night did agree to bring pre-op photos to the next meeting and we will start a photo album for our group. We are welcoming people that are going to or that want to learn a little about the surgery in general. I am so glad you all finally had one. How exciting.. Keep it going. Its priceless.

Thank you for your support. I think we learned that it's priceless the other night, there was one woman there that was two years out and she started noticing a small weight gain and that is one of the main reasons all of us are so excited about this so we will have a better chance of avoiding such.

Hey Girl! Glad to hear you guys got together....it makes a difference to see all your brothers and sisters regularly! Please post the times and dates of the meetings on the board prior to the meetings. Sometimes you will have folks that will "crash" your meetings from out of your area! Smoochies ARlies
