Info on Dr. King
Hi everyone! My name is Deborah. I live in Grenada, MS. I have had my initial consult with Dr. King in Oxford, MS. I would like to hear from anyone who has used Dr. King. Did you have complications? What were they? Are you still having trouble? What caused the complication?
What type of support has been available after the surgery? Did you work with a dietician? These are just some of the questions I'd like to see information on. Thanks in advance to those *****spond!!

I know there's a few folks here who 've used Dr King, try to check the profiles of some of the members, most of them have it posted , incl the doctor, hospital and detailed profiles of their experience.
Please don't be shy and post often, any questions you have, you're in good hands here !!
Personally I didn't use Dr King, so I can't give you any details on him at all, but I'm sure there will be more responses as the day progresses for you!!

Hey-
I used Dr. King. He is an excellant doctor. I didn't have any complications unless you count my medicines being mixed wrong. I have no trouble. I just haven't found a protein shake I can handle yet. Still looking. I live in TN so I'm not sure about support. I know if you have a ? him or his nurses will help. His nurse and him went over what we're supposed to be eating. If you have any more ?s feel free to ask.

Thanks for your reply, April. I read your profile. Seems you are having good success with your surgery. I appreciate the details you included. It was very helpful.
Also, I wanted to let you know that I am praying for you regarding this relationship that you are having difficulty with. I know it is not easy and not something you want to deal with while trying to recover from surgery. Hang onto the Lord. He will be your strength when you have none of your own. God bless you!

Hi Deborah,
I used Dr King. Him and his staff have been wonderful.
I have no complications at all. I have not even vomitted
one time since surgery. Dr King is very strict. He advances
you food wise alot slower then some other dr's. But I think
that is one reason he don't have many complications. He did
not send me to a dietician. He might if you ask but I don't think
he does routinely. He will give you a print out of what you can
eat at each visit. Liv lite has a support group meeting in Oxford
other than that I don't know of any other up there. I live in Carthage
so I haven't went to any of them there. If you have any other questions
feel free to ask. Good luck with your surgery. Do you have a date or time frame yet?

Thanks for the reply. I will be in your neck-of-the-woods Saturday. My mother-in-law lives in Kosciusko, and I've got to pick up my daughter who's been staying with her for a week.
I'm going to the next seminar that Dr. King has about the surgery. It's on 7/26 in Oxford.
As for a date, the only thing I have set up right now is for the EGD on August 2. I will also have a blood clot filter put in that day. Assuming all goes well, the earliest I could have the surgery is probably the 1st week in September. I want my daughter to get settled in school first. Also, my dad will be having surgery on his eye in August, and I want him to be recovered from that before I ask Mom to help me after my surgery.

Welcome Deborah! I am having surgery in Oxford on the 8th of August with Dr Kings associate, Dr Byars. The staff at their office is absolutely awesome! I haven't met a one yet that I had problems with. They are all very willing to help anyway possible and very informative too. I know a few people that have used Dr King and they loved him.
