New to board

HI! My name is Angela Dunaway. I had surgery at UMS on January 14m 2004 by Dr. Roger Blake. All of a sudden, he isn't here anynore and I have not had any after care since he left. I guess I fell through the cracks fo the proverbial "system". Does anyone have the number where I can reach the new doctor there at UMS. I understand it is a Dr. Salame (?). Please contact me if you have. Also, is anyone going to the meeting at the UMS Pavillion tomorrow night? This will be the first meeting I have attended. I feel like I have had good results from my surgery. I hve lost about 175 lbs. in almost 18 months. I thinkit is about time for the abdominial plastic surgery--anyone had that experience yet??? Hello Angela and welcome to the Mississippi board. I had my surgery in January 2004 as well. Mine was done in Mobile, Alabama at Providence Hospital. Congratulations on your weight loss. Sounds as though you have done very well. Man, you should be very proud- 175 pounds gone in 18 months. That is great. I have lost 141 pounds and am 9 pounds below my doctors goal. I have been in maintenance since late Nov. or early Dec. of 2004. I want some plastic surgery done too at some point. I am glad you came on here and posted. You will make lots of friends and get lots of support and encouragement here. I honestly don't know what I would do without everyone on here. I don't know anything about the contact information you need, but I know several people on here that should be able to help you. Maybe one of them will be on here later and see your post and give you the info you need. Hey Angela! Welcome to the board. Yep, it's Dr. Salameh. He can be reached at UMC at 601-815-1294. I started out as Dr. Blake's patient and had an appt on Oct 3, 2004 to get my surgery date, and it got canceled. I gave up and went to Keesler and had surgery on Jan 11, 2004. I am gonna try to be there tomorrow night, but wasn't sure the meeting was tomorrow night since I don't always get invites anymore....Hope to see you there! Come back and post often! Thanks so much for responding to my post in such a timely manner. I look forward to meeting you tomorrow night if you are there. I will be the one with my 71 year old mother and 8 year old daughter in tow. I love them, but a trip alone would have been a godsend--oh well, maybe next time. Angela
