I am supposed to fly out of Gulfport on Tuesday. I may have to drive to Atlanta to catch the second leg of my flight to Colombia. Surgery is scheduled for July 14th. Sonya Sumrall

HI SONYA, YOU WILL BE IN MY PRAYERS. HOW EXPENSIVE WAS THIS FOR YOU, IF YOU DON'T MIND MY ASKING. MY INS. WON'T PAY EITHER, WHAT TEST DID YOU HAVE TO HAVE ? ANYWAY, I THINK YOU WILL DO JUST FINE.

It cost $14, 380. I will stay in a five star hotel in a junior suite, the first night. Then, the next morning I have all the test that you would have in the states. I even meet with the psychiatrist. I will meet with five doctors in all on Wednesday, July 13th. LAP surgery is scheduled for the next morning. I will have a private nurse for the next four days. (Two in the hospital and two at the hotel.) I have a friend that will be with me every step of the way. I will continue to stay the hotel until July 20th. (9 days in all). I took out a home equity loan my notes will be about $200.00. I take $75.00 in medication. If I get healthy, I will not need the meds. The way I look at it. I can pay the notes to have surgery or I can pay all the medical bills in the states when I have a heart attack or stroke. You can find Dr. Silva and his colleagues on the web at www. affordablebariatric.com If you will stay in touch, I will let you know how everything goes for me. He has several references that you can contact if you don't want to wait on me to get back. Best Wishes, Sonya Sumrall

I am happy for you. Maybe Dennis will be gone by then and you wont have to drive to Atlanta. I want to hear all about your surgery when you get back. I dont know anyone who has been out of the country to have surgery. Sounds like its going to be exciting. I have never been out of the US at all. I know you are nervous but it will be great. I am glad to hear your friend is going with you...that should take some of the nervousness away.
