Good Morning All, I had my routine 6mo bloodwork done Tuesday. My Iron is seriously low. the normal range is 50-150 and mine is 20. I take my multi-vitamin regularly and extra iron pills during certain times of the month. I eat iron rich foods. I looked back at my last report and my iron was 101. In 6 mos my iron dropped a whopping 80 pts. I have agonized about how this happened. I have evaluated EVERYTHING. Finally, I think I have found the culprit. I changed vitamins a few months ago when I ran out of my regular multi-vitamin. I opted for the "Carb counters" version of One A Day thinking it was better since I always watch carbs and it was a multi-vitamin. Fearing something could be wrong with my absorption long-term, I started to calculate how much iron I actually was ingesting daily. I looked at how much iron these new vitamins had...and there were NONE. I was flabergasted! No wonder my iron is low! On the bright side, now that I'm getting lots of iron supplements again I should rebound my Iron levels fairly quickly. Learn from my mistake. Make sure your vitamins are what you think they are! I consider myself very thorough and I missed it! Elesha
