Has anyone taken the new sleep aid Lunesta. I am on Lexapro for despression and the pharmacist has said the Lexapro has shown to make people have insomia, I am only sleeping 4-5 hours a night. She said it is not habit forming and should work. I have a call into my PCP about it, but he is out until monday. FYI: I took Resteril, but it gave me bad hangover effects the next day. Thanks

Sharron, I have insominia also. No sleep is a huge problem for me. I was put on Ambien after surgery. Was on other meds for sleep disorder before that, and nothing really helped.. I was taken of ambien last week and put on Klonopin.. I hope that it begins to help soon. Even with Ambien I was only sleeping 2 - 2.5 hrs. Good Luck, Jo

Hi Sharron!! Have I seen you on the board before or are you new??? If so, WELCOME TO OUR BOARD !! I can't help you about the Lunesta/Lexapro.. but I did want to thank you for pointing out to me that I am an insomniac. I never get more than 5 hours of sleep, and I thought it was normal Actually, maybe just getting a peaceful routine for yourself before you go to sleep at night, might help a bit. By the time I take a hot 30 minute bath and then sit and chat on my computer for another hour or two, I can't keep them eyes open. I used to blame caffeine for my sleeping habits. Now I know I am an insomniac. Do you feel okay the next day thought? I know I'm asking a lot of questions, I'm just kinda wondering if I ought to have myself checked out. I know my bloodwork's all normal, I'm not anemic or nothing, but does one really have to get 8 hours of sleep??? I feel just fine after 4-5 hours of sleep, rested and not exhausted during the day. Thanks again for pointing this out. I'm going to talk to my doc about it. ~Andie~
