blood work
I don't know about the hepatitis b question. I just recognized you as being new and wanted to say hello and welcome to the MS board. Are you just beginning the process to get your surgery? Who is your doctor going to be?
Well, as you go along in your process if you have any questions this is a great place to get answers and make friends who understand you and what you are going through to get healthy.
Good luck with your surgery and keep us posted on how things are coming along.

I had heptatitis A in 1987. We got it thru the daycare where my son went. 2 of the children had gone to North Alabama for Thanksgiving and came back with it. They gave it to EVERYBODY in the daycare who promptly took it home to their parents, grandparents, neighbors, etc. it was a mess!!! But A is not a really bad version of hepatitis. B is alot more dangerous.... For info on it, go here:

I do know that if you have had ANY kind of hepatitis, you can't give blood. Call a health professional and ask about surgery and heptatits B.
Good look and keep us posted. Welcome to the family!
