I've been having those, too, Lisa. I believe it's low potassium. I'm not able to take my Potassium because of the taste - yuck!! I know banana has potassium in it, but I tried a couple bites and I guess the natural sugar in it made me sick. Hope you get better! Rebecca

Please be very careful and talk to your doc about supplementing the potassium. Leg cramping is definitely related to it, maybe have your potassium checked?? Potassium is important as an alkalinizing agent, it maintains a proper acid/alkaline balance in blood and tissues. It prevents hyperacidity and is essential for muscle contraction and is, therefore, important for the proper functioning of the heart, for maintaining a normal heartbeat. It promotes secretion of hormones and helps the kidneys in detoxification of blood. Also prevents female hormonal disorders by stimulating the production of hormones. It's involved in proper functioning of the nervous system and helps to overcome fatigue and assists in reducing blood pressure. Potassium is found in legumes, green leafy veggies, peaches, apricots, bananas and it's also found in potatoes. Other symptoms of potassium deficiency is fatigue, heart palpitations, nervous shaking, excessive perspiration of hands/feet, nerves being overly sensitive to cold, and "cloudiness of the mind " (hmmm... now I'm looking into buying me some supplements for sure !! :haha)

Yep, it's low potassium. I have that and I am world class at low-potassium. You DON"T want to have to take potassium esp if they make you drink it ! Baked potatoes are high in potassium and throw some fat-free cheese on it to ramp up the proteins....yum!!! Smoochies Arlies Ps The Queen says there are NO stupid questions.....Folks maybe stupid sometimes especially if they don't ask these kinda questions!

I have never had the leg cramps. I have always heard it was low potassium though. Please get some in and call your doc. Do they do blood work on you? Mine does at every visit and my potassium level is one of the things they check. Eat a banana if you can stand it. I do not know what else has potassium in it. Most of the protein shakes are loaded with potassium. Are you drinking your shakes? I am sitting here drinking one now and it has 500mg of potassium in it. I drink 2 a day so thats 1000 mg... One banana has about 600mg of potassium.
