Surgery Date Scheduled

Hi everyone, I am new to this site. I am scheduled for open roux n y on July 12th. I have gone through all of my panels and am anxiously awaiting the day that I start my new life. I have been trying to get things in order as far a s work and with my 31/2 yr old son, Hunter. He doesn't quit understand what is going on but I know in time he will love his "new" mom because she will be able to run and play with him and actually give him a bath without getting out of breath. So...Wish me luck and I will keep in touch. If anyone has any pointers for me, feel free!!!!

The 12th is not too far away. Are you having it at FGH? I had surgery on April 4th. I am doing good and have lost about 50 pds. I go to JAckson for a ckup on the 7th of July so I will know just exactly how much then. God bless! I know some McLaurins and they own MAck's fish house near peps point. Are you related. I live in Poplarville now but grew up in Sanford just down the road from Hattiesburg. Welcome to the MS board!!!! Jane

I am having it at FGH, Dr. Whitehead. I am excited and nervous all at once. I am divorced from a McLaurin that is distant kin to the people that own Mack's. Although, we never got any discounts. lol Thank you for responding..

Thank you for responding... I actually just got finished reading your profile and journal. It helps me to know what to expect. I know everyone is different but every little bit helps. By the way...you look great, good job!!!!

I hope my profile did not scare you in any way.. Haha.. I really like Dr. Whitehead and really respect him. He and his wife and his nurse, Janet showed up for the bash we had in June and I thought that was really classy. I never dreamed he would come esp on a Sunday and in shorts with a cooler. It was great. I trust him alot and am glad I chose him. Have you been to any of the support group meetings? I havent missed one and I dont know if I have met you yet and I know it is a requierment. Have you met with Dr. Carsons yet? Who did your psyc eval? If it was Dr. Hartwig.. Ugh.. I was not impressed with her at all. I know she had several complaints against her from us Bariatric Patients and they got another shrink to chose from..Cant remember his name though but my sister used him. Thanks for the compliment. I feel great most of the time. Its hard to get used to sometimes and the emotional part of it is hard. But its a learning process and I hope I get it under control real soon. Let us know if you have any questions.. We may not know the answer but we will try!

I really like Dr. Whitehead and Janet too.. In fact, Janet's daughter goes to the same daycare as my son, so I see her there sometimes. I met with Dr. Carson on the 22nd. He is great also. Dr. hartwig on the other hand, weird. Did she charge you in full up front for your visit? She did me, but was not suppose to because of my insurance so-pay. I am getting a refund!! I do not like her at all. I was going to another Dr. but there are only 2 in Hattiesburg and I couldn't get an appointment with him. O well.... It is all over. I have not been to a support group as of yet but I am planning to go to the one in July if my surgery goes well and I can get around good. Hoepfully I will meet you then.

HELLO IM SARA AND I AM ALSO GOING TO HAVE MY WLS ON THE 12 TH . MY MOTHER IN LAW DOES NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT I AM DOING . I LOVE HER SO MUCH BUT SHE DOES NOT WANT ME TO DO THIS . THE REST OF MY FAMILY IS HAPPY ABOUT IT . GIVE HIM TIME HE WILL BE FINE WITH IT AND I HOPE MY MIL WILL TO .. SARA
