I don't know much about it but I do know it helps you hair and skin. Other than mainly the hair I don't know. I just know they said get it in so I try to get it in. Becky

I think if you dont get in protein its starts to eat our muscle tissue and then you can develop problems with that. Something to that extent anyway... It is more than just cause we will lose our hair.. but I dont want to lose my hair. I am anyway.. have been for sometime. I get lots of protein in too.. I think it is just inevitable.

Sufficient amounts of protein are very important. Protein is the nutrient used by the body to build new tissue. It is important to get plenty right after surgery so you heal appropriately. In the long term getting plenty of protein helps preserve lean muscle tissue so that the weight we lose is fat and not our important muscle tissue that helps keep metabolism going. So protein is very important short and long term after this surgery. The more lean muscle tissue you have the faster your resting metabolism is. Melissa
