Help! I was denied for the RNY surgery because I did not have One-year doctor supervised diet under my planner. I have been on Weigh****chers for a year, and many others. The only problem is I did not keep documentation of my diets. Please, any advice would help!!!

Not all Drs. require that. Who are you going through? Where? Check around for another Dr.

Stephanie, I was in the same boat. After alot of research I realized that Blue Cross Blue Shield of MS was not going to pay for the surgery, no matter how many hoops I jumped through. I contacted a doctor in Bogota, Colombia. The cost for me to stay 9 days in a plush resort with a full time nurse, plane ticket, tour guides for when I feel up to it, a cell phone so that I can stay in tough with my family, and all other medical needs included will be $14, 800. They do financing. The cost comes to approx. $220.00 per month. It takes about 6 weeks from the time you apply until your actual surgery. My surgery is scheduled for July 14, 2005. Is it your doctor or your insurance requiring it. If it is insurance then you cant really get around it. Just do it. If you have been to Weigh****chers then they have documentation. My insurance would not accept Weigh****chers though.
