Made it back.....Question for Postops

Thanks Jo, Becky and Arlies! Now I think I know why my pouch and its other parts are so irritable today. OJ!!! When I questioned the nurse at the hospital about the OJ, he said he had been working with the bariatric patients since they started it there and he had never known of problems with SF OJ at first. But I'm staying away from it. I've emailed my dietition and haven't heard back from her yet. It's clear liquids for me until Monday when I'll include my shakes again for two weeks, then on to pureed foods. Even then I'm not allowed mashed tators! I'm jealous, Dawn! I read your post about your tators and gravy. Not fair!!! I know, all surgeons are different. You just go ahead and enjoy them for me! Rebecca

Rebecca, Those we're the best taters I've ever had and your 1st ones will be too! I haven't tryed OJ yet but i have thought about it! I've also had a few other things that i wont mention , some were not even approved! I have a hard time following the rules! Just know the everyday this all gets better and you get skinnier too! DAWN

Hi Rebecca!!!!!!!!!!!! So glad to see you back on the board and hope that you will be feeling better! I cannot imagine why they would have given you oj???? I have problems with OJ without having had surgery, but the weight gain is from swelling and your body holding onto fluids cause of surgery trauma. Stress too causes you to have fluid and pain causes stress. You will do so much better at home!!!!! I am looking forward to meeting you and everyone else who lives in our area! Sooo we need to plan a good meeting spot, suggestions????? I will send you my mobile number when I get to NO..... I will go on this coming Monday 27th and have surgery on Wednesday and now am on the liquid diet, but the shakes make me so full, switched over to splenda and even that doesnt taste nasty anymore!!!!! Oh wow, Cheryl! It's almost your time! I'm so excited for you! I'll be there next Friday for a checkup. I wonder if you'll still be there?? We need to get with Jan and set up a meeting. That'll be fun. I'm already doing better at home. I can move around whenever I want and my bed sleeps SOOOO good! So - I'm getting there! Rebecca

Will you be going on June 24th? I will still be in HK on that day but flying out that night! But the next Friday July 1st, should still be at hospital, I think???? They told me 3 days, Surgery on Wednesday 29th, 30th Thursday and 1st July is Friday, maybe go home that day if everything goes ok. Did they tell you that both Drs are going on holiday from the 3rd to sometime the next week? But a general surgeon and residents will be on call if there is an emergency!!!! Ok lets contact Jan and get some planning going. We might be able to meet at the Hushpuppy in Summit. They have a meeting room and I guess might let us use it?????? Or Ruby Tuesday? Surely there would be something we could order that is sugar free besides coke???? Glad you are sleeping sooo good! I always LOVE to go home to my house my bed is sooo good there, compared to the crappy chinese bed I have in HK Talk Soon!!!! Cheryl
