Christine this article is amazing. I have been researching wls for about 2 years and have an appt at Keesler next week with my pcm to get a referral. We just moved to MS the 30th of May. I am so happy to find local support. Everyone on the MS chat boards have been great. Thank you for sharing such personal thoughts and feelings. You have helped me learn what to expect if I am approved for surgery. Congrats on your weight loss I am proud of you. I can only imagine in my wildest dreams what is must be like to wear a 12 again. I am 5ft 8inch and weigh 273. I wear xxx or 26's and 10 shoe VERY wide. You have inspired me with this article thank you so much!

Hi Amy. I am glad you liked my article. Who is your insurance thru. If you are going to Keesler -does this mean you have Tricare? You are starting out about where I was so you will be in those 12s before long. Welcome to MS... I hope you like it here. Not much to do but its home sweet home. Let us know if we can do anything for you and GOOD LUCK!

Yes my insurance is Tricare. When you have surgery in a military hospital Tricare doesnt have to approve it. Tricare is only used when you use a civilian provider. I worked as a medical clerk and health benefits in Maine so at least I know the system that should help some. I like it here in MS much better than Maine. People are so much more friendly. I am from Colorado and my husband is from Alabama so we are much closer to our families. Just have to get used to the heat and humidity again. But at least no more snow we got over 100 inches in Maine this last winter. Thanks again. Amy

Bravo Girl! I'm thrilled that this will be published. I have rolled these very thoughts around in my head for three years now. You have captured my emotions almost completely. It takes someone with a writer's gift to say it so eloquently. You did a fabulous job. Love ya, Elesha

Elesha.. I do wish you would post more often. I rarely get to hear from you and miss you when you are absent. Will you be able to come to the meeting on the 20th? Please say yes.. I dont want to hear NO... Thank you for the compliment on the article. I have refused to let anyone at work read the proof other than the editors who keyed it in. I dont know if I am embarassed at the honesty or what but I figure they can read it when it comes out 2morrow. I think I really put myself out there and am afraid what people might think about me after they read it. Some people just dont understand food addictions. PS... You looked really great at the bash on the 5th. Your kids were precious as well.

Christine, You know it aint fair to say you love me in one post then try to make me cry in another. I cant wait till folks can say any of those things about me. I know I am losing it (weight not marbles) but I am like you said I still see me at over 500 lbs and I know it will take time. Thanks again for letting the world know of your journey and of what we all go through step by step. Barry

Your article rocks Ms Lady! I'm so glad they let you write it in your own words instead of a reporter interviewing you and then writing it. You really are a huge inspiration! Huggles and love, Keli
