Ok OK I know I am slow to make my own post on the bash. I had a wonderful time. Everyone looked so great and the t-shirts were awesome. My daughter wore the one we bought her all day yesterday showing it off. She is considering having the surgery too after talking to some of you sunday. My grandbabies were worn slap out, they wanted to go to sleep in the van on the way home lol. My wife had a great time as well she loved meeting and talking to you all. I loved the pictures that i have seen I guess I need to invest in a digital camera too soon. But the video I took is also excellent I think I managed to catch everyone on it. I just have to figure a way to get it on here so that you all can see it too. If anyone knows how to do this email me plz. And on one final note. To all that had a hand in making this possible I have to say a very huge THANK YOU I had more fun than I have ever had at a picnic in my life. You all are some of the most loving and caring folks that I have ever met. You have all welcomed me to this board and into this internet family and it means the world to me. Not only that but you have welcomed my real family into the fold as well and that means more to me than you will ever know. I am so happy that I found this lil nich in the world. Hey Barry, tell your wife that I haven't forgotten her and that I will post that banana pudding recipe on here tonight or tomorrow night. I have it typed out and will scan it and get it on here for her. I will put the cherry dessert recipe on here too for anyone else interested. We did have a good time. And I think Arlies has another picnic in the works in October when it is a little cooler. I am ready for it already. Melissa

I can't take credit for the banana pudding on Sunday. Mrs. Susan Hughes made it and brought it. She just used my recipe that I had posted on here one time before. I am going to repost it along with the cherry dessert recipe tonight or tomorrow night for anyone who is interested. That banana pudding recipe is to die for and Mrs. Susan did a bang up job on it. Hey girl, it was good to meet you Sunday. Your little boy is a cutie pie. He is the biggest flirt. He was hugging on all the girls. I got me quite a few hugs myself. I will post the banana pudding and the cherry dessert recipes tonight or tomorrow night. Melissa

Hiya Papa Bear, I gotta fully agree with you, this was an outstanding picnic , great people, awesome food, you could really feel that we all have something in common and that's what makes it so special. The fact that none of us had to be ashamed of showing up just the way we are, not being apprehensive about telling everyone just how we felt and how we looked, even admitting our real weight, because every single one of us has "been there" and knows how we feel- how lucky are we to have friends like this???? This is truly my second family, without these guys here I 'd be lost , because I don't actually have a "local" support group meeting, the closest one is at Keesler which is an hour's drive for me and usually I can't get to it because of my hours at work. I'm so happy for you, after you showed me your pictures, I just know you are so relieved and so happy with your "afterlife" !! And you're doing so well, before we know it, you'll be all skinny and all, too!! I love looking at everyone's pictures , too. You could clearly see the happiness on everyone's face. It reassures you that our last resort, surgery, has turned our lives around and it makes it a great boost of encouragement to those who might have doubts about surgery. How anyone could possibly judge us for getting surgery, I'll never know! Your wife and kids are so sweet, please give them a big hug and tell'em to keep taking good care of you, too. I bet seeing you become a healthier, happier person, gives your family a lot of strength. I know it definitely made our family stronger. Enjoy the good weather, and you and your family , have a great week!! ~Andie~
