Hey yall , I knew my hubby's nice streak wouldn't last long... he started fussing at me on the phone tonight because I cut my hair...really cut my hair. its really short kind of like a "wedge" haircut. I cut it because I work in a warehouse on CAFB, and its really hot w/little airconditioning and I just wanted some relief. I feel a lot better since I got that mess off of my neck, it's definately a lot cooler. He just told me that he doesn't know why I don't care what he thinks about my hair. He wants it long (he specifically said like "Scully" on the tv show the x-files) . What I don't understand is why doesnt' he care what I want my hair to look like? Am I being selfish? He said "If you've got a haircut like a man, well I guess I will have to start treating you like a man" I told him there would be hell to pay if he started treating me bad... I know I'm mean, but that just made me mad!!!!! what do yall think? Crystal

I have really short hair and my husband knew better than to say anything about my hair. I must be lucky cause I cant really think of a time my husband ever degraded me for anything even my weight. Why would it bother him so --ITS YOUR HAIR.... Seems he would say something pleasant and go on about it. I dont understand alot of things some husbands do. What does he expect you to do about it now??? What exactly does he mean by treating you like a man? When it comes to your body -hell yea be selfish...Wives dont need permission from their husbands to cut their hair. I might get flamed for not being submissive but its how I feel. I guess the womens rights in me is flying high tonight. Tell him to leave you alone. Its too late now. If you like it short... Keep it short.

yeah, that was my point I was trying to make to him, its my hair, and I am the one who has to deal with it everyday! I asked him how would he like to have hair as long as mine was and work through the summer with it...he didn't say anything to that, cause he knows that wouldn't happen....so what my point was to him was why should I have to burn up all summer?/ Honestly I think he has control issues. I guess what he meant by treating me like a man was maybe "cutting me off" or just giving me the silent treatment. he can act so stupid sometimes. He gets bent out of shape over the smallest things... He just needs to get over it!

How long have yall been married? Marriage is 50/50 and neither one should be controlling. However in saying that... If MY husband shaves his head one more time I am "Cutting him off"...haha Please dont get me wrong my marriage is not perfect and we arent without problems but we tend to choose our battles and ask ourselves...Is this really worth me hitting him in the head with this cast iron skillet... Nah... Cause then I gotta pay for the stitches. Ive been married to my husband for 10 years... 10 YEARS! Longestttttttt 10 years of my life... HAHA.. Best 10 years of my life. Seriously though.. I get very mean very quickly and they better watch out. I throw whatever I can. Phones, chicken batter, candles.. whatever I can reach... haha... although its been a long time since I did that... a week is a long time right, just kidding. Maybe you could try counseling. But if hes like other men.. he wont go cause its a sign of weakness... BLAH BLAH...We have EAP thru my work.. Is that something you or he has available to them? Its free. He asked me how much weighed tonight and I told him 156 and he said let me pick u up.. He did.. It was really romantic. He has never been able to pick me up.. I was fat when I met him. That was a YAY moment. Hes a little man too.. a whopping 171 pounds and he stands 6'2...hehe.. I surprised he didnt drop me or throw out his back. We may be taking him to a surgeon next week to remove the hernia I just gave him. HA Hope it works out.

I'm new here but been married for 11 yrs and just HAD to post to you on this one! First off like Christine said ...what in the world can you do about it now and who the heck cares. I mean really love is based on much more then how short or long your hair is. My advice is A. so many more important things for your husband to worry about then your hair and for you to worry about then if he's ok with you trying to be comfortable at work and B. nibble on his ear or whatever his happy trick is and if it still makes him happy then there you go ... no worries Keli

Hey girl friend, Laud hav mercy i'ld knock Donnie fisher into next year if he said something like that to me!!!!!!! It's Yo head not his, No you're not being mean he is!! But, i'ld change that in a hurry!! Do you like your new do? I just cut mine off too, it was all one length down below my bra strap in the back and now it's up to my coller bone( or where my collar bone should be) and choppy with bangs . I Like it, it's so much cooler than that thick long mane!! I may cut it shorter next time and my Dh better not say nuttin!! Your Dh well porbably come around he just needs to get used to it. DAWN

I know! If I could have reached through the phone I would have knocked his butt out! I like my new do, its quite a bit shorter than yours, but it looks good on me. I would probably like to grow it out towards fall because it gets colder then. Iike Ashlee Simpson's hair. He wants my hair just straight and flat.. I want something with a little "rock n roll",and "cha ching" you know what I mean? Some thing that's in style and looks cool. Not something that's just plain and boring, cause that's not like my personality, I like to have my hair always changing cause I get wild hairs and want to do something crazy with it! I am a hairstyist besides what I do at CAFB, I love trying new things and I'm always dying my hair, right now, its not like my pic on here, its blonder than Britney could ever get hers!! Oh girl we are so much a like. I took a pic of ashlee simpson to my hair stylest and that's what he went by!! It's not as cute as hers but maybe he'll get a little closer to it next time he didn't take quite enough off in front to me. But i like it and i don't want it to fall out!!!
