OK.. calm down.. deep breath ... LOL I don't think you want to use the stuff they tell you about at 38.00 bucks.. you don't need it. First of all, if you're going to lose hair, you are wasting the money, because it will not , I repeat, NOT help. It's your body's natural response to surgery and hormone changes and being " starved to death" where your body will use protein towards other purposes than hair. If you get your protein in every day and use a good brand shampoo and conditioner ( I use fructis myself because I always used that brand. I also buy the big bottles of tresemmee conditioner and I have no problems with my hair now whatsoever) You can't predict when , how long, or how much you will lose, chances are, you wont go completely bald. My hair came out as soon as I was 2 weeks post op, for the first three months, then it started growing back in. Right now, at one year out, it's completely healthy and looks great, except it came back wavy and I gotta iron it flat So personally, don't invest the farm in hair products. From what I hear, they don't make a difference. Don't know of anyone who can honestly say "yes, I started using this-and-that and it stopped immediately" ~Andie~

Yes, Sharon i think we do need to wear one, not sure why except if thay have to incert a breathing tube or somekinda tube our pouches could be torn!! IS THAT WHAT IT IS POST-OPS? correct me if I'm wrong! And the card is something you will get when you are discharged from the hospital and you show it at resturants and maybe you can get a discount or childs plate. Most people say thay don't honor them to many places, but i don't know for sure!! It was go talking to you today, call anytime. DAWN

1. For medical Id bracelets, you can froogle on "medical id bracelets" and can find some pretty cheap. For gorgeous ones, see Dixie Chick!!! Mine has red Austrian crystals and sterling beads and spacers. She does good work - you can get them from her for less than I paid cause mine has my name in beads on it and it is the crystals. I paid about $40 to $45 for mine. The back of it says: Arlies S King Tricare/Medicare Bariatric Surgery Pt No blind NG tube No NSAIDS You can put whatever you want on the back but the last two lines should be on there! 2. I dunno...... Smoochies Arlies

Dawn, I never lost a single hair. I think that was my consolation prize for having Complications. I tried the Nioxin shampoo, And I think it mostly just "feels" like it helps. It gives the scalp a "tingly" feeling. I kept my Protein intake at 95gms a day And I attribute my thick hair to that. I did use Garnier Fructis Shampoo and Hair Strengthener. I also took a Biotin supplement. Got mine at Kroger, but Nearly any drugstore or place that sells Vitamins will have it. I don't have a Med ID Bracelet. I do have a card in my wallet along with one For my heart Valve and one that tells the Emergency folks That I'm on "Blood Thinners" as well. I think the Wal-Mart lady was looking to make some money on you. The bracelet is a good idea, but with my other conditions The "No blind NG tube" and NSAIDS info is very secondary. Have the Greatest Ever Next Tuesday!!! Best Wishes- Dx
