questions??????????
I'm back!!!!!!!!! I have a few questions!
1. I need to know of some places to look for cute/ inexpensive med id jewlery? And what should if say?
2. Have any of you used the nioxin shampoo? Did it work? And do you really have to use it for life? (the lady in the walmart salon told me i could never go off of it and it's $38 a bottle not counting the conditioner and treatment she tried to sell me!!! I'm sure i'll think of more later, DAWN
Look under Peers, Alabama, C, Dixie Chick
Her profile shows the medical bracelets that she makes, they are very nice and the price is below $50.
I am not going to buy any of that shampoo for that price. I was also told that you could use Garnier Fructus (sp) that it is a hair strengthener. I am not going to worry to much about mine, it grows back in pretty fast, I don't think I will go bald. Your hair will not start falling out until about 3-4 months after your surgery if it falls out at all. Some people don't have that problem.
Call me if you have time and have more questions!

I know I'm still a rookie, but as far as the hair, my nutritionist told me that if I get the proper amount of protein in, I shouldn't have a problem with it falling out. Still - I've been taking Biotin for a couple of years since my hair started thinning and it definitely thickens it back up. I plan to stay on that, just in case.

Hey girl!
I just wanted you to know before you got ripped big time that (I am also a licensed hairstylist, but just do it on the side) all Nioxin does is swell you hair folicles to make them APPEAR more fuller..I used to work at the salon at wally world, and they make a 10% commission off of everything they sell products.. that is.
I have not had the surgery, but I can tell you what I think is the best thing to do. You should make sure that you get all the protien that you need, and I would also start on some biotin. To fix the thinning hair, that is something that you have to do from the inside out. You can temporarily fix the thinning problem with shampoos like Nioxin, but to prevent/cure the problem that is what I would do.

P.S. Nixoin is a great product, don't get me wrong, it's just its not the long term answer to that problem.
That is great Rebecca. Keep taking the Biotin. I am a firm believer in it. After surgery I worked really hard on the protein and taking the high potency Biotin morning and night and my hair loss was minimal. And now it is thicker than it was before surgery and I have all this new hair growing in everywhere I have to control with hair spray every morning. It is never too early to go ahead and start combatting that hair loss you know is coming. Sounds like you are planning ahead. Good luck on your weight loss journey that is just around the corner.

I got all my protein in plus some and still at about 5 mos post op my hair began to fall out. Some say its inevitable.
Even if that Nioxin only makes it fuller -thats really the objective isnt it... Eventually it will grow back. Ask Missy Lissy.. she has sprouts (HAHAHAHAHA) I tried to pull them out today...
You wont have to use it forever and I have heard people swear by it.
Personal decision..
My hair got thin but I was blessed with thick hair so it didnt bother me any.
