Did you keep up with the number of daily calories your first year?

No. I just kept up with my Protein VS Carb intake, And beyond that I really didn't Do any "counting." I know alot of people use Fitday.com And keep track of everything, But I just followed the Basics- Protein First, Less Carbs, Vitamins, Water, Water, Water... Walking, Walking, Walking. By the time I got in my 95 to 120 gms of Protein everyday There was little room for Carbs, and with my "Hair trigger" Dumping, Anything with any sugar in it (even Ketchup) Was Right Out. Everyone seems to do what works best for him or her. Hope you find what is easiest for you! Best Wishes- Dx

Is there a protein/carb ratio. I'm getting 60-65 g of protein each day and anywhere from 20-25g carbs. I'm walking everyday and have just started strength training MWF. Now I'm going to discuss this with Dr King at my next appt, but thought I would post here to see what everyone thought. Since I've started strength training do you think I should try to get a few more grams of protein? Thanks

Pj, Sorry I was away all day. I got about 1/3 Carb to 2/3's Protein. Alot of that was held over in my head from Atkins diets of the past. Keeping Carbs below 30gms a day Will keep the body in Ketosis And the Pounds will steadily come off. Below 20gms, and you start feeling A drop in energy. So the amount of Carbs you are taking in sounds Perfect. King may have a particular amount of Protein he'd like you to get in, But Byars set mine so high because I was Having to Heal and grow a Lot of tissue due To my Early Complications. The exercise is something I wasn't Able to start until around the 4th month But once I did, The weight started coming off much faster and I felt a lot better. Hope all works out great for you! Best wishes- Dx
