Wondering 'Bout SNS247

Just wondering how Short N Sassy247 is doing? I read her profile and she has updated it. A couple things they messed her up on. Was wondering if yall knew the "CORRECT" way she was supposed to do this, so I can watch out if the nurses screw up my meds. Read Below: 5-14-05 "They screwed up on giving my medicine and I had to take a lot of nausea medicine. Thank the Lord I didn't get sick! I was supposed to have the lil beads which is the effexor I was supposed to take that w/crystal lite and well they told me to take it with water! Then the prevacid which dissolves on or under your tongue they put in water!!" 5-15-05 I would have been able to have left the hospital but they screwed up on my medicine again! So I had to take nausea medicine. I walked 18 laps around the nurses station. They did the prevacid right but the effexor wrong told me to take the lil beads then drink water and slo**** around. So yep I was sick again! ************************************** So what is effexor for and how is it supposed to be taken and prevacid also. Sue

hey sue, effexor is an antidepressant, i take it everyday,but mine is a tablet you swallow. I guess it's a differant kind maybe you can't take regular pills right after Rny. And the prevacid is an antacid type of med. both are very common, i hate to hear that happened to her. When i was in the hospital (1 whole month to be exact) pregnant with the twins, it happened to me several times luckly i knew it was wrong and corrected them myself. Very scary, you really have to watch everything they give you. dawn

Hey Sue! I'm doing great!! Alot of energy! Tough to get sleep tho! Still no tummy! But almost there! They have me take prevacid in the morning on an empty tummy. Then effexor later that day! But the other reply is right. The prevacid is for acid reflux...i was shocked i'd have to take it, but it tastes good. It dissolves. My great grandpa has been put in the hospital so I've been a bit preoccupied. Clear liquids!! ARGH!! LOL! I'm living on popsicles still! I so can't wait for pureed or soft food. I've been craving chicken and cheese, and grill cheese. LOL! But I'm living through this liquid. Can't wait for full! But I know that w/being on clear this long I will be losing the lbs! Which is good! Effexor is supposed to be put in a spoon w/crystal lite. The lil beads are easier that way. Dr. King said to take it like cough medicine. So I do and its so much better and easier than when they screwed me up on it. LOL! Prevacid can be put on or under ur tongue, and they want it to be taken on an empty tummy. As for now I've having a bit of a prob drinking water. 8 to 10, 8 ounce glasses. Yikes! The most I have gotten is 6 1/2 so far. But I'm working on it! My 10 day check up is tomorrow so I'm gonna get the 8 ounces in today and tomorrow. I'm a night owl. So the drive is gonna be rough! I take effexor also, but I mix it with applesauce. I never tried it with liquid - maybe I will! I also take another capsule that I have to empty into the spoon of applesause. Wonder if we will ever be able to take capsules again? Sorry they screwed your meds up. Sometimes they just don't pay attention - it's a good thing WE know what we are supposed to do!
