Hello everyone, If you are a state employee, what do you think about the proposed health insurance changes? Everyone let me know what you think. Add the http:/www. to clarionledger.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050520/NEWS010504/505200376 Please pray that everyone stuck like me (with insurance that dosen't pay and voc. rehab with no surgeon) will get a break if we are offered a chance at a plan with more coverage. Thanks Debra. Personally I think everyone should have a choice of health plans available, not just ONE that is paid for by the employer and you're stuck with what you get. My employer is a huge company, and they only offer one type of insurance plan, unfortunately they don't cover WLS so I lucked out my husband's insurance, Tricare Prime, covered it 100%. Other things are better picked up by my coverage, such as dental work and eye glasses that are not covered at all by TP. So either give people more choices with the coverage they need/want or give them supplements, it can't be that hard, I would think? Have a great day and Yes, I am praying for ya !! ~~Andie~~

My husband has been a state employee for 15 years. He is 56 years old, and in relatively good health. He has Type two diabetes and has to see his physician twice a year for a complete physical. His insurance, the wonderful benefit that the state "gives" him, has NEVER PAID A DIME. They always claim it goes to the deductable. Thank goodness I retired from the postal service and have Federal Blue Cross that covers both of us. If we didn't have that, we would be in serious trouble! Blue Cross is ripping the state off big time with that trashy policy. If we had to pay for it, we would not have it, but since it is "free" we keep it. Maybe one day it will slip up and pay something! I think Barbour's idea to have retirees pay more for the insurance stinks. The state retirement is not very good, and if people have to pay even more for that rotten insurance, well, it will be a shame. Susan 315/305/248/150 55 yrs old 5'6"
