I talked to my worker and she said she received my surgery date but still needs some info. She needs proof of prior weight loss attempts. How much is enough? So far I have had enough for a surgeon in La to agree to it (had to move before surgery date) as well as enough for Dr. Salameh. Will it be enough for voc rehab? WORRIED

I just finished dealing with the same thing. My ins. wanted a years worth. They would accept documented evidence of your own not necessarily a medical person. Have you ever done the Weigh****chers, Jenny Craig thing that you had to pay, you can use that as proof. I went to my gyne once a year and we discussed weight and some things to do and my ins. accepted that. I also did the Atkins diet before and kept logs of it online on the Atkins forum, they also used that. So you can do up something. Sue

I had to have 6 months worth of a physician supervised diet. I had so many that it didn't matter. Then I also had a list of all diets I had attempted. I even wrote them down if I had tried them for 10 minutes. I put dates, amount of weight lost, and amount of weight gained after each one. This proved that I had dieted since age 8 and all the attempts I had made. I also made a list of things that made it hard for me to perform my job. Being a teacher, I had a hard time standing, bending, swelling of feet and legs, GERD, missed work due to depression, etc. I was approved very quickly. Kitsy
