Can anybody tell me about what you know about the doctor sending you to ICU after surgery if you wear a C-PAP machine. I have heard different stories about this. Can someone please enlighten me on this matter. I was just curious about this. I know to take it to the hospital but was wondering about ICU. Thanks, Nan

If the dr and the anestiologist(sp) feel you need it in there they wil let you know when they wake you up in recovery. It may be nessasary depending on your particular case every case is different is what they told me. Barry

Definitely take it with you. You may not use it. I did not and didn't go to ICU either. I guess that is the doctor's choice and how you are doing with your breathing. Jane

Take it with you.. WE did not use mine but I did not go to ICU. My O2 level was monitored in the room. Show a family member how to turn it on and how to apply it to You is my suggestion. glenda

Take the CPAP with you. At Keesler, if you are on a CPAP you automatically spend the first night in ICU and you must use your CPAP....Different hospitals may have different rules, but take it with you! Smoochies Arlies PS I spent 2 nights in ICu. The first due to the CPAP and the second because they couldn't get anymore blood outta me, but I was fine!!! I had to stay until they could get some blood - all my IVS gave up the ghost!
