I just want to thank you guys for responding back to the email. It feels good to know there is a support group available. Arlies I will have my surgery with Dr. Mann at Keesler Medical Center. If you guys can give me any information as to what I need before surgery are afterward IO would really apprciate it. I will have to see how I feel after the surgery to come to the BASH, but I would love to me everyone. Thanks again. Look forward to hearing from you guys....

I LOVE Dr. Mann!! Tell him that he is NOT ALLOWED to hold your hand during surgery! Girl, he is so very compassionate and caring. He did Rhonda's surgery and was in on mine. In the operatring room, I felt someone holding my hand and rubbing my arm. I squinted to see who it was and he said "Do you know who I am?" He got right up in my face so I could see those sweet green eyes and I knew who he was. He told me that not only was he holding my hand and rubbing my arm, he was praying (He told me this later). He is a dear sweet man, but like I said, I have already claimed him, so keep your hands off, sister!!!!! I would stock up on cup-of-soup - particularly cream of chicken. Also sugar-free popsicles. If you like sugar cookies then Carb Solutions in Vanilla at Wal-mart is pretty good. It tastes like sugar cookie dough, but is a bit gritty. Before surgery, I'd do a liquid diet for two days prior....and don't be nervous - YOU ARE IN EXCELLENT HANDS!!! Smoochies Arlies PS Dame Tooter from Washington State has excellent advice on her profile and I hear Dex has some good info he can send out.
