I was going to have lap-band but I just read some posts on band message board and didnt like what i saw! I think that after waiting this long, losing 2 or 3 pounds a month would drive me insane! Cant wait to meet u all and get some in-put.

I want to talk to you!! I started out that way also but with way over 200 lbs to lose. I changed my mind. You are right --RNY is better if you have alot to lose.. See you June 5... glenda

Angela, I personally think the rny is better, but that is a choice you and your dr have to make. I would love to meet you I live in Carthage. Becky

I have completed everything and I am waiting for a surgery date for lap-band surgery. Ms. Susan told me the bands have been ordered but still have to clear the red tape. Now I see that someone who began a month after me has gotten a surgery date. I really feel like I made the wrong choice. I am gonna spend one more night thinking this over but I think I will call in the morning and switch to rny. Are you going to UMC meeting Tues?

Angela, I had LapBand in November. There are pros and cons to both the RNY and LapBand. If I can answer any of your questions on LapBand...feel free to ask. I have lost about 40 pounds...and feel great. Good luck, Michelle H.

Not that I am prejudiced (having had a RNY), but I'd say go with the RNY. I had a cousin to have the lap-band and she hasn't lost much, if any. Also the deal with the fills????? You don't lose if you don't get the fills and they are about $400 (I've heard) a pop......But whatever you want, we love and support you!!! Smoochies Arlies
