I am so nervous!
I have to go see my primary care manager to ask for a referrel letter for WLS. First of all, let me say I HATE GOING TO THE DOCTOR! I guess it is because I have a touch of "White Coat Syndrome" and because I have have had really bad experiences in the past with being treated badly due to being overweight. Last fall I almost bled to death because I refused to go to the doctor....it took me passing out on a girl scout field trip to get me to go. Am I crazy???? Any advise as to what to say to him??? I am painfully shy and my blood pressure will be through the roof because I will be scared to death that he will say no it is not neccessary! YIKES! Thanks for listening!!!!!!

Hi danielle, it really depends on if your Dr. Supports WLS, I had Dr. Harman (he's really nice), but when I asked him to write me a referrel letter, he said he would write one, but it might not be a strong one, depending on how severe my sleep apnea was and other ailments. Well it was severe enough that he wrote it, some drs. Don't think twice about it because after all it is your choice. If you have been under his care during weight loss efforts, that will help. Just talk to him and see what he says, regardless, you will have to have it, I understand what you mean about drs. I went to more drs. This past year than I have ever have gone getting all this stuff done. I wish you the best.
Hi Danielle,
It is so important that you go to a doctor that you trust and can talk to! If your doctor(the one you are planning to go to) is not that person, please find another one! It is that important. You will need this doctor a lot from now on. I go to a wonderful doctor in the Meridian area. If you want her name email me and I'll email you back or call you.
Love, Dyan
