Well, it is May. So our picnic is just around the corner. I got the letter today from Kamper Park confirming our date. The picnic will start around 11:00 that Sunday and go on until. Christine and I are starting a list of everyone who plans to come. We need to know if you are planning to come and how many will be coming with you so that we can get the napkins, plates, forks, spoons, knives and such bought. We would like to know what you are planning to bring so that we have plenty of foods as well as desserts. Whoever comes just needs to bring a covered dish and whatever they and their families will want to drink for the day. Also, if you have children coming if you could tell us their ages because we want to do goody bags for the kids who come. We will be posting reminders about the picnic up until that day so everyone knows about it and can plan to come. Christine, if I have forgotten anything, please feel free to add. Melissa Taylor

Hey Missy, I will be there with my hubby (hopefully), my Sissie, my daughter, but probably not my son......Em is 13, so I don't know if she will fit in the age group for kiddos or not! Please email me with snail addy and amount of $ I need to donate towards the event. I will bring whatever!!!!! I am not good with sugar-free desserts, but could bring a sugared one for the kids and spouses....lemme know....Also, I don't know where Kamper Park is...It has been a long time since I lived at USM and I don't know if I knew where it was then! As for the covered dish, I need to think on that for a while.....I may bring finger sandwiches and snacky food that sets well with most everyone. Help me out here!!! Smoochies, Arlies PS I respectfully request that Dex bring his cheesecake!!!!!

I am in agreement about the cheesecake. I had lunch with Christine today. We just work right around the corner from each other and we talked about how nice it would be to have a slice of that cheesecake for dessert. Oh, well, we will just have to wait for the picnic, hint hint, Dex. Finger sandwiches sound good to me. And you know the kids will want real dessert as mine say. I will get hubby to put some directions together on getting to Kamper Park because I am no good telling someone how to get somewhere. Melissa

Arlies, When you come in from 49 N and get to the 49/Hardy St intersection in front of USM at the 4 way red light by Chesterfields, Walgreens, USM -- You will turn East on Hardy St. Kamper Park is about 2 miles or so down that road on your right. It wont be hard to miss. You will turn in and come past the tennis courts and you will see the big pavilion. That is where we will be! Hope this helps some.

And let me know what type napkins ya'll want and I will get that too. Then I have no idea about food. I think I might bake a turkey so I know we will have some meet (I love meet) lol. Ooh, my son is going to be in heaven. He is 13 yrs old. Your niece is 13 and Arlies' Em is 13. He will be primping in the mirror for hours knowing two 13 yr old girls are already planning to come. I have a three yr old little girl. So that is good your two yr old is coming. They can play. This is going to be so much fun for us and the kids. Melissa

Girl, we were not expecting you to get all the utensils and such. But if you are already planning to bring it, please let me know how much you spent so that I can share the cost with you. And a turkey sounds great to me. I love turkey since surgery. Melissa

I will be there with my husband, I think my son will already be gone to his dads house by then. I will plan to bring some baked beans. Beans are a good protein source. Can you let me know when you get a head count about how many people we are expecting to be there so that I know about how many beans to make. I will also bring some drinks. If you guys want to take donations to help pay for the goodie bags and prizes, let me know where to send a check to and I will be glad to donate some cash to the occasion. I am so excited, I can't wait to meet all of you!!! Rhonda Biloxi, MS -53 pounds
