BCBS state ins ???

Has any one had problems w/ BCBS state employees insurance paying for hernia repair after WLS? I know they won't pay for WLS. Found out yesterday I have a hernia. I thought it was waistline fat!!! This is what is causing that sloshing, squishy noise in my belly!!! Dr. said it was my"guts pushing out"!!!

Oh, no. How soon will they fix it? Sounds like they need to hurry up. I don't know what insurance Deborah West in our Hattiesburg group had, but she had a hernia after her surgery and her insurance covered to repair it. She could tell you what insurance she had. I don't know that she could tell you what to expect recovery wise from the surgery though because she went ahead and had a tummy tuck at the same time as the hernia repair so she killed two birds with one stone so to speak. So I am sure her recovery time was alot longer than if she had just had hernia repair. Melissa Taylor

Glenda, Yes! I've got Mississippi BCBS through the University And they covered my hernia repair. I don't know if it will matter, But my hernia was not incisional due to the surgery. It was a Femoral Hernia (the type that women get after being pregnant) It was a result of having weakened the Tissues stretching them over time. That's all I know! Best Wishes- Dx.
