As most of you know this has been a depressing month for me. There are many reasons -- I won't bore you. HOWEVER-- I GOT GOOD NEWS YESTERDAY. MY BONE SCAN DID NOT SHOW THE "C" WORD (CANCER). SMILE! SMILE! SMILE! It did show some degenaration of hip, knees, and ankle bones where pain existed before WLS. I told him those areas are 95% better since weight loss. He asked me to consider speaking w/ a group about how weight loss has helped eliminate pain in those areas. ( I was headed for replacement and reconstruction of feet and ankle.) Ortho thinks we can do some alternatives stuff to get rid of back pain. I was prescribed physical therapy. I requested no rx for pain. It's just too irratating to my pouch. What a relief to get a clear report. He was frank in telling me he thought it may be worse due to family history. I AM BLESSED ONCE AGAIN. glenda

Hey, somebody has a new picture. You look beautiful. I see your little girl has glasses. My little boy has been wearing glasses since he was a wee little tot. It is amazing they make them so tiny. The funny thing is he realized he could see with them and I never had a problem keeping them on him. He didn't try to take them off. Anyway, she is just precious. My son is now 13 and hitting me up for contacts. I guess we will have to do that next. Melissa

Thanks for the compliments. Marci got her glasses at 15 months I thought he was crazy when he told me. I thought how are you gonna get a 1 year old to keep glasses on. But she has done great with them. She wears them wonderful and she hasn't even broke a pair yet (knock on wood). I broke a pair trying to straighten them. I can't wait till the picnic as you can tell I'm getting excited. Its kinda all I've been talking about. C-Ya Becky

Oh Glenda.. I am so happy for you! I was praying it wasnt cancer. I know how scared you must have been. Try not to get depressed about things. Usually the things we worry about never happen anyway. I dont like to take pain medicine either. I dont like having to rely on meds. Are you going to speak to the group? The more we get out about the benefits of this surgery the more people will see how it helps and get some positive attitude out there about the surgery. Seems we usually only hear about the negative stuff. I am happy for you! Cant wait to see you soon.
