My latest update...
I have decided that there is no reason in the world that I can't go ahead and get the tests that I need myself, instead of waiting on ins/surgeons office. I still don't have final approval from insurance, although I'm sure it's going to go through. My surgeons office doesn't do any referring for tests until final approval, which is completely understandable. They don't want us to have to pay for a bunch of tests. Jeannie has been so helpful to me, I just love her. She told me everything that I was going to need, CVC, CMP, Lipid profile, EKG, and chest x-ray. I had a yearly appt scheduled with my GYN and got him to go ahead and order those tests. So Monday I took care of that. He will write my referal letter also. Next I knew I needed to have some kind of appt for symptoms of sleep Apnea. I called and got that appointment, but wasn't happy with the date, so I called my gyn again and he got me an appointment for that on Monday! My surgeon no longer requires a lung function test, so as far as I know, this is all the pre-tests that I need. I will be double checking on that. Depending on my pulminary appointment, I may have to have a sleep study done. So basically, I will hopefully have all of my testing done and overwith by the time my final approval letter comes from the insurance. (10 days from yesterday) Then I will finally get to meet with the surgeon. I am being very pro-active, and it is helping with my nerves alot. I can't stand to just sit around and wait - can you tell? LOL
Anyway - just posting this incase it gave anyone else some ideas.
HUGS

Good Morning Kimberly, I agree with you. The more we can get done the better. I read your profile and sounds like you are a very busy lady, with your young family. Who will you be using for your surgery? I am using Dr. Salameh at UMC. I do hope all goes well with you insurance and test. We are planning a picnic bash at Kamper Park in H'burg on June 5. I hope you can bring you children and join us for a meet, greet and all round fun day. Just hang in there. The time for our surgery will get here , in God's time. This is what I have to remind myself everyday. Smiles, Jan
Hey Kimberly,
I agree with you totally and am glad your gyn was able to order those tests. Do they always order sleep tests? Or are you having problems that made them suspect sleep apnea?
This insurance waiting part has got to be the worst part of this whole ordeal... I am crossing my fingers for you to g'friend.
