i went to see my surgeon yesterday. got my staples out and he said everything looked good. i really have had no major problems. i was 13 days post-op and had lost 13 pounds, in addition to the 8 that i gained from iv fluids i was given in the hospital. this was great news to me!!! i did have one unexpected event, a large fever blister on my lip. i know that the virus that causes these often attacks us in times of stress. i would be interested to know is anybody else had this trouble. it started on the 4th post-op day after i was at home. but, it is gone now and i am fine, just tired and weak still. never was nauseated one time, and have not vomited even once. i really was blessed. good luck to all of you losers!! janice

You are doing so well and recovering nicely. I know you are excited and so thankful for a complication free surgery thus far. I hope your recovery continues to be smooth. You looked really good and like you just felt wonderful at the meeting on Monday night. I didn't get to talk to you much the other night as I was busy answering questions and listening to ideas about the upcoming bash we are planning. I am so excited about that. We will have so much fun. Planning it is fun too. Christine, Denise, and I are like little girls in a candy store. Melissa Taylor

A pound a day! You go girl!!! You are doing terrific!!! Yep, fever blisters come out in times of stress and this surely is a stressful time for your body. I haven't had one since surgery (or in a long time either....must be them vitamins...). When you first feel it coming on, hold an ice cube on it until the cube melts and then get another one, etc. Seems to kill them quicker. Smooch Arlies
