Need info on Dr. Avara.

Has anyone here used him or known of those who have? What was the experience like. TIA!

Tawnya, Dr. Avara did my lap-band surgery on March 10,2005. I have no regrets! He is wonderful and his staff is excellent. Anytime and everytime I called, his staff put me right through to the right person and all my questions were answered thoroughly. i know someone who had lap rny done by him and had lots of problems she was in icu for days and she almost died and also he only operates out of ocean springs hospital and i'm from there originally and i wouldnt take my dog there to have surgery.the hospital doesnt come highly recommended by anyone around there.do what u want but i started to go there when i first started my search but when they said they only operated out of os hospital i said no way! i found out later that dr whitehead did them here in hattiesburg. he is fabulous.he did mine and he was great.i had the best experience in the hospital ive ever had before here in forrest general. ask anyone on this sight about dr whitehead and u will get nothing but good remarks and recomendations!!hope it helped i wish u good luck and if i can help in anyway let me know. crystal
