MY FIRST POSTING

HEY, GANG! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT, BUT I AM ALREADY 10 DAYS POST-OP. AM SO GLAD THAT IT IS OVER AND SO THANKFUL TO GOD THAT EVERYTHING WENT SO SMOOTHLY. DR. WHITEHEAD AND NURSE JANET ARE GREAT AND THE NURSING STAFF ON 7T AT FORREST GENERAL WERE AWESOME. ALL AREAS FROM REGISTRATION TO DISCHARGE WERE GREAT...AND MY SPECIAL FRIEND, ROBIN, WHO HAS DONE SO WELL WITH HER WLS WAS WONDERFUL TO ME. SHE HELPED ME WITH THE REGISTRATION PROCESS, CHECKED ON ME THE MORNING OF SURGERY, AND EVERYDAY THEREAFTER. I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR ALL THAT SHE HAS DONE. I GO TO THE OFFICE ON MONDAY TO HAVE MY STAPLES REMOVED, ON MY 13TH POST-OP DAY. I GAINED 8 LBS. IN THE HOSPITAL, SO I AM ANXIOUS TO SEE IF I HAVE AN ACTUAL LOSS YET. WISH ME LUCK!!!!!

Hi Janice... I didnt get a chance to check on you but we did keep up with you thru Robin. She said you were doing GREAT and it really sounds like you are. Dr. Whitehead and Janet are awesome and I wouldnt trade them for anything. The day I had my staples removed was great. I cried when Janet came in and then again when Dr. Whitehead came in. I was very emotional. Now, I just grin with joy when I see them. They saved my life and for that I am eternally grateful. I met you at the support meeting last month and I hope you are able to come again this Monday. Dont fret over those 8 pounds.. its from all those liquids they pump in us. I imagine those 8 are gone and probably even another 8. Cant wait to hear! Christine

Janice, Congratulations! Take it easy still for a little bit. That fluid gain in the hospital is very common. I'm looking forward to a long list of success stories Coming from you over the next year! Keep us posted- Best Wishes- Dx

I am so glad you are a loser now!! Isn't it grand, except for the barfing and tummy aches????? You will slowly feel better and better and better!!! Keep us posted. The 8 lb gain is simply IV fluid!!! It will go away! Smooch Arlies
