DONNA TERRELL UPDATE!

I got a card Wednesday or Thursday from Patty, Donna's daughter, but did not get to call her until this am. Patty said Donna had another surgery in Feb due to the fistulas from the first surgery, but after the Feb surgery she got MORE fistulas. Things looked pretty grim there for a while, but they put an NG tube in to drain the fistulas and she is doing much better! She is off all meds, is sitting up on the side of the bed, and is doing physical therapy. Her medicare ran out the 1st of April and Patty is fighting the hospital as they want to move her to a nursing home and Patty wants NO ONE dealing with her except for Dr. Cleveland. She also gave me Donna's phone number to her room and asked that I pass it on and request that everyone call her now and again to boost her spirits. The number is 601-376-2515. I called and talked to her and she sounds a bit wobbly, but pretty good. She (and Patty) are very thankful for all the prayers and good wishes! Call her and encourage her!!! Smoochies Arlies

Hi Sue, A Fistula is an abnormal connection between two organs etc. Could be that there is a fistula in the intestines, meaning for example where intestines loop, an opening develops between the walls of the upper and lower part of the loop, creating a "channel". Does that make sense? There are some websites with medical terms here on the internet, with illustrations *yikes * Sure hope Donna gets to feeling better soon, sometimes things don't go quite as smoothly as we hoped for, I'm keeping her in prayers and hope she gets well soon ~Andie~

Arlies, Thanks for the update and the number. I just got off the phone with her And she does sound hopeful. Lord, she's over 5 months still in the hospital. I remember the time when I thought I might not ever get better, And how great it was to realize it Once I had "Turned the corner!" I got letters from prayer groups of folks That didn't know me from Adam's housecat, And they had just gotten my name from someone Who had heard it from someone else. I know for certain it was the prayers of total Strangers across the country that pulled Me out of my complications And I'm determined to see the same happen for her. I'm getting my Methodists stirred up in the morning. (I'm the guest speaker at the monthly "Men's Prayer Breakfast") I'm going to challenge the 100+ people their tomorrow To find at least 10 other people each to lift Up Donna's case to the lord. I believe that God still likes to showoff With a miracle nowadays, and this, I think, Is his perfect oppotunity. When my condition turned around, It shocked the nurses.
