Update on my Sis!
I posted early this am that my sister was having WLS. The surgeon, Dr Cleveland told her at the pre-op appt that she might be lap. Gave her 80% for lap. But he ended up having to open her cause of the scar tissue from her gall bladder scar that she had in the past.
I just talked to my niece and all is well and my sister was on her way to the room. I told her that we would talk tomorrow, cause I know from experiece I didn't wanna talk to anyone on day 1.
Thank you for your prayers and support.
God Bless,
Jo

PS... I think its so neat how once one family member gets it the others follow suit. My dad and sister want it. My sister has actually done everything.. Just waiting on insurance. But it should also go to show these insurance companies that its more than just overeating. I believe its lifestyle and genetic. EVERY female in my family is overweight. The boys are the only lucky ones.. with the exception of one.
Talk to ya later

Christine - I just had to hijack and say that I completely agree with you. In my case, I am the one following suit. I wasn't brave enough to be first in line! LOL But I completely agree that obesity is a bigger genetic problem than most people believe. It's very aggrivating! Every woman on my dad's side of the family (which I was lucky enough to resemble LOL) is over 300 pounds. They have all gone up and down. I am the small one at 235, but I am also still the youngest. It will get worse. Anyway - just rambling now....
