Back in hospital this week
I was readmitted to the hospital and spent Thurs thru Saturday there due to dry heaves, vomiting, dehydration. I should probably still be there because I am still doing all that but they could not figure out what was wrong so they just sent me home. My doctor is out of the country and I ended up dealing with resident doctors the whole time, which knew very little about bariatric surgery.
Has anyone else had a problem like this that has lasted for 5 or more days? I just feel totall sick all the time, like I am constantly wanting to throw up. My mouth waters constantly, I can't even keep water down. Can't sleep as you can tell it is 2:45 in the morning. Miserable Miserable.. The only good thing that has come out of any of it is that I have met my first goal and am below 200. But no food or drink other than IV fluids will make you drop real quick.
Any advice?
Rhonda
Awww Bless you Heart Rhonda,
I went through the exact same thing after my surgery. The first 2 months was heck. vomiting, dirahea, dehydration.. Was admitted in the hosp twice in 2 wks, Back in the ER's often...Seemed like while in the hosp and on IV I would get better, but by the time I was released and got home, it would start all over again. The last time I went to the ER, the ER Dr of course called my surgeon for orders. I was given 2 bags of fluid and sent home with phegan suppositors! They are wonderful. I had tried pill form phegan, zofran, ativan, and the patches all for nausea, nothing helped. But the suppositors are so wonderul. I must mention that I havent been back to the ER due to dehydration since I was given the suppositories for dehyration.. But I did the dry heaving too, nothing but foam.. I feel for ya girl. I kept telling myself daily.. "this too shall pass" and it did.
You are in my prayers.
Jo
Man you have had a time. I really hate that you are feeling so poorly. I hope they figure out what is causing it and get you fixed up. I wish I could be of help but I didn't have any problems like that. But the one thing I can do is keep you in my prayers and wish you a quick recovery.
Hugs coming to you,

I am so excited for you. You made it under 200 very quickly. How much have you lost so far? Seems you are losing really fast. Thats great.
I do hope you feel better soon. I will be praying for you.
Did your doctor not have a partner or anything on call for him? My doc has other surgeons who cover for him and assist him in surgery but dont actually perform the surgery or know much about it. When he is out of town I deal with his nurse. I had to go to Immediate Care once when he was out of state and the doctor there kept my nurse completely updated and the confered about everything before he prescribed me anything.
Try to drink as much as you can. You will feel better before long.
