59lbs gone!!! 229-170
Hi Crystal,
Yes, I had the same thing happen at about the same time. It lasted for several months but my hair grew back in even healthier. Mine actually went from straight to curly when it grew back! I've heard may people consider using Biotin if the hair loss was severe. Like everything else with WLS, it is highly variable and different people have different amounts of loss. Mine wasn't severe, only me and my hairdresser could tell.
Good luck,
Elesha
Crysral just came in from out of town and read your post and like Elesha said everyone is different on the amount lost. I would recommend taking vitamine E or getting some reconstructor treatments from your cosmetologist. This will harden your cortex (roots) and strengthen your shafts inside to outside, don't let them forget to use a conditioner (leave in if you want) to soften it back up afterward. I don't think you have a perm, as reconstructors can be harsh on them and cause them to revert easily. If it get to coming out too bad Nexxus has something called Emergency that stops breakage in it's tracks. Your friendly board cometologist, hope this helps. Holla back at me if you need additional help.

Hey Crystal,
So the hair loss has started. Mine started about the same time as yours. I was taking a high potency biotin supplement every morning and started using a topical vitamin on my hair as well. That seemed to help the condition of the hair. In addition to loss I had some breakage too. The topical hair vitamins helped alot with that. I found mine at Sally's over there by Walmart on Hwy 49. Make sure to take a really good vitamin and add a high potency biotin every day and you should see a difference. My hair loss didn't last very long and it has all grown back. Matter of fact my hair is healthier and thicker. The only thing right now is I am dealing with all that new hair growing in all over my head and it has a life of its own. My hair is straight as a board but some of the new hair coming in is curly. Now that makes for an interesting time trying to fix it LOL. Good luck.
