Back to Dr. for pain

Hey everyone, I had to go back to the doctor today because I have been having some very serious pain on my left side. I had not had a bowel movement since I started eating pureed foods and was worried that I may have an obstruction. My doctor assured me that it is not an obstruction that the loritab will keep me from going to the bathroom in which I was taking it for the pain I have been having. He checked me out and determined that I have a nerve that has wrapped around some scar tissue and that when that nerve is stretched by me sitting up or laying down that it is painful. He gave me a shot in the stomach to numb the nerve temporarily, sent me home with some motrin and some stool softener. So time will tell. The numbing medicine has already worn off and I am starting to feel the pain again but hopefully it will be bareable until it goes away. He said if it is not better in the next couple of days to come back and see him. I will keep you informed. I did have a nice weekend with my sister and her new beau, he is a very sweet man and I hope that everything works out with them, I know that he will treat her the way she deserves to be treated. Poor Baby, so sorry you are hurting. Drink lots and lots of fluids and that will help you potty also. Be careful of the stool softener because you may just think you have gas and it will be TOO late....yuck! I am glad you had a good weekend with the sissie. Oh girl, I am so sorry that you are having to go through this right now. I hope that pain goes away soon and you start well.... how should i put this..... hmmmmm...... Thanks Denise. Fortunately, I have been able to go to the bathroom but it is not helping with the pain I am in. I plan to go back to the doctor in the morning for another injection into the nerve to numb it for the day anyway. The pain is almost unbearable. Hopefully it will go away in a day or two.
