Almost a Week

Hey guys, well it has almost been a week. I feel really good and have a fair amount of energy. I have been out a few times (ran by the office, post office, the mall) and felt pretty good. I am trying to push the fluid, but it is harder to stay mindful of this all the time. I am rotating the protein drinks (Boost, Ensure, Carnation) just to make myself think I am getting some variety. Acording to the packet from Dr.'s office, I can start stained soups as part of the liquid diet, so I started cream of Mushroom last night and it was wonderful! I used the fat free milk to thin it out, increasing the protein in the overall meal. I take two chewable vitamins per day, three tums and one Actigal prescribed by the Dr. That is pretty much my routine - keep a water bottle with me, along with the protein drinks. I try to make sure I drink half the bottle before lunch and the other half after lunch. I also drink at least 1.5-2 of the protein drinks through the day. Energy is good, bordom starting to get a little worse, so I am spending more time out. I will be glad when the drain comes out next week. Anyway, the memoirs of a looser! james

Hey Psycho Doc! I am so glad you hear you are up and around and about! I hope it stays this easy for you! And there will be no bad days for you! Enjoy the soups - cream of chicken with milk and added canned chicken boosts that protein level really well! I am so proud of you! Smoochies Arlies

Hey James! I am so glad to hear that things are going well for you. Trust me, once you get that darned drain out you will feel like a HUGE burden has been lifted. I know I did!! I enjoyed the creamed soups also. I bought cream of potato, but blended it some to get some of the potato chunks out. I also liked tomato soup. My favorite were the Sugar Free Popsicles. Hang tough, and DON'T LOOK WHEN THEY PULL THE DRAIN OUT!! Trust me on that one friend! Kristi
