What do you do for exercise

Hey everyone! After surgery, I started to exercise regularly. And now I love to work out. That has become my replacement for food. I go to the Y and work out and I have Taebo tapes, step aerobics tapes, and Leslie Sansone tapes that I use at home when I can't get to the Y. I was just wondering what some of you do for exercise so that maybe I could get some new ideas to change things up a bit. I get tired of the same old tapes and exercises. I need some new ideas. I am ready for the weather to warm up and the days to get longer so I can get outside and jog in the fresh air. That will help me swap things up. But as cold as it is today it may be a little while longer before I can enjoy a good run outside because I get so cold so easily. It is like since the weight loss my internal thermostat is all messed up LOL. I have heard a bunch of people say they freeze now since surgery. Well, anyway any new ideas will be much appreciated. I dont have many ideas for you. You are the queen at exercising. I wish I could run like you do. All I really do is ride my bike and I havent done that in quite some time. Mostly because the weather has not been optimal. I miss riding on the trails. I did buy a taebo tape but my gosh he wears me out. I can only get to the 3rd or 4th punch before I am wore out. And that is still the learning... haha... My sister tells me all the time that she wants to do weight training like you did so she can be as flat as you. You are truly the exercise master and we all aspire to be like you...haha...Maybe one day I will be there.. I have a membership to the Y... I never go because I dont like to do anything by myself. My sister and my mother are both talking about joining the Petal Y but I am a member of the Hattiesburg Y. It will be worth though to me to have someone to work out with so I imagine I will pay the extra 10 a month to be able to go to both. Yes, I am could alot of the time. Never thought I would be like that. My poor husband all those years would freeze because I wouldnt let him turn on the heat... Now I burn him up! Life is crazy post op but worth every second of it! Talk to you later tater! Christine

I do Curves and LOVE it. That is truly one of the best workouts that I have ever done! I also walk but I dont like to do that by myself and it is hard to get people to go with you. I like you two also freeze. And trust me I use to run the air in dec if it got below 70 degrees. Now I just recently bought a small electric heater for my office cause I freeze there all the time. Esp my feet and hands. Take care! Love ya Denise PS I know you got some more baby sugar today get some for me and then grab some baby dust from your sister and save it for me for next meeting so you can sprinkle it on me. hee hee

Petal used to have a Curves, but it closed. I don't know why, though because it always looked busy. I have not gotten any baby sugar today. But she is bringing him home today and she just lives 2 miles from me. So I plan to be first in line to get me some. I like that sugar on the back of his little neck. It is so sweet. I'll try to get some baby dust for you LOL. Melissa

Girl, you should go to the Y in Petal. That is where I go. I go after work. I have a friend that will meet me there sometimes and boy the workout goes a whole lot faster when she is there for me to talk to. We could just talk and exercise away and it fly by. I want a bicycle. My sister has one and she wants to ride bikes to lose her baby weight. She wants me to get a bike and ride with her so she will go. I probably will do that and leave it at her house because she has a great place to ride around the lake where she lives. I don't have a good spot to ride on my dead end street. Hey, I did buy one of those weighted jump ropes like on Rocky. Boy, that is tough. My arms and legs hurt the next day after that. I was laughing at myself as probably all the neighbors who drove by were, too. Oh well, maybe I made someone laugh or smile even if it was at my own expense. I had not jumped rope since grade school. How is your sisters preop stuff going? Is she close to getting a date, yet? I meant to ask you at lunch yesterday. Melissa

Melissa As you know I don't do any of this by seeing my size the other day at lunch. I was going to suggest skating or swimming when it warms up. Petal has a skating rink I believe and we have a great one in the Picayune area. Walking in the mall is always entertaining. One day I hope to be able to ride a bike. That is my dream because I love outdoors. Volleyball, trampoline and tennis is also good exercise. Hope this helps. Jane

Hi Melissa, I know how you feel about the "being cold all the time" . I have lost all my insulation and my family is suffering big time, because they all have to sweat in the house now when mommy's home. Hubby keeps turning down the AC and I finally made a point to tell them all, I don't care anymore, but I straight up refuse freezing in my own house, and that's THAT. They can run the AC all day when I'm not home but I DARE them to turn that thing on when I am home !! So anyways, with that said, I usually walk my dog three times at day at least a mile or more, and I have a "Gazelle" at home , once the pool opens, I'll be swimming again, since our apartment has a beautiful nice size pool and I'm a pisces, so I'm most comfortable in water anyways. Let's hope it warms up real soon, summer can't get here fast enough for me ! Take care and have a great day! ~Andie~ 334-212-160

Missy, I am just walking right now, but considering that I have been unable to walk almost at all for the last 2 years, the little bit I am walking seems like a lot! I'm so glad to hear everyone talk about being cold! I have nearly frozen to death these past two weeks! I wear thick wool socks all the time and a sweatsuit! Dr. Whitehead said I could go back to the Y after my next visit on the 28th, so I am really looking forward to getting back into the pool! That has been my only exercise for the last few years because of my hip and leg, the water makes it easier to walk. Also, if I go, Amy will go. She is trying weigh****chers and is doing well with it this time. She has lost three pants sizes. She has fine clothes - I'm looking forward to borrowing them! Susan
