Lunch Plans

Okay, lunch is planned in Hattiesburg again. After talking with Christine, we have a date in mind. Wednesday March 9 Chesterfield's @ 11:30 That gives lots of advance notice so everyone can plan to come and get sitters and such. We had a great time the last time we all had lunch. So I hope we have even more come this time. We missed all the ones who didn't get to make it last time. Melissa Taylor P.S. Susan's surgery is tomorrow so everyone keep her in your prayers.

I cant wait... I cant wait... I cant wait.... I really enjoyed our last lunch.... Those of us that come to Hattiesburg Support Group meeting should try to pick a month that we can have our fashion show. Dr. Whitehead mentioned one time at my appt and Janet and I thought it would be really fun. But we never really talked more about it. For fun the other day I put on my fat jeans... Size 24 and they were SOOO baggy. It felt so good to see how far I have come but so sad to know that I was once like that. I know I still have a ways to go but I am not like that anymore and hopefully never will be. I remember as I was losing weight I still couldnt part with them because I was so afraid this surgery wouldnt work... Eventually I did though... Only kept some for a reminder and if I ever get to get my body in one leg --I will be thrilled.... I say we go to the next support meeting wearing our fat clothes and definatly next meeting as we go around the room saying what we have lost we need to tally it up. Monday there was a lot of lost weight in that room and I wish I knew exactly how much it was. It just amazes me. What do yall think about wearing our fat clothes? I will call Janet and see if we have a speaker or can we do this... I think it would be fun.... Can ya tell I have nothing to do this morning at work... haha... Talk to yall later! The fashion show sounds fun. So does sporting the old clothes. Everyone could wear their pre-surgery clothes with their small ones on underneath, and as we go around the room we could drop the big clothes as we share our weight loss. That would be too cool, huh? That would put how far we have all come into perspective, wouldn't it? I can fit into one leg of my old jeans and my son gets in the other one. I need to get my hubby to take a picture of that. We definitely need to do a tally of the weight lost next time. With just the few of us who had lunch last month we had lost over 500 pounds all combined. So imagine how much it would be with everyone who comes to our support group meetings. Let's remember to do that. I will try to remember to bring my calculator. The more fun we make things the more likely everyone is to stick with the group support which plays a big part in maintenance. Studies show those actively involved in some kind of support group or system keep the weight off better and longer. Well, gotta actually get some work done before I get fired. Talk to ya later. I think I am gonna try to be there!!! Won't that be something????Maybe I can prize the Tams out and bring her with me!!! I think we need to have a group MS meeting somewhere so EVERYBODY can come. Excellent, I hope you get to come. I would love to meet you. I think the MS group meeting is a great idea, too. It would be great to get together and have our own little MS rally. I will help you pull it together, and I am quite sure that our friend Christine will be willing to help make this group meeting happen as well. Honey, My britches are hanging on the nail waiting. (In other words, my pants are ready for me to jump into to be there !) Thats country talk you know !!! LOL Johnny said that he would be more than happy to drive us Ladies down. And guess what, I didn't even have to twist his ear to get him to say it. I would love for us to have a MS group meeting. There are so many people that I would love to meet from this board. So far I have met Arlies, Andrea, Karen Barrett, Amanda Wegrecki,Sherry Penn, Angie Bea and I think that is all that I have met in person. But I have enjoyed very much each and every one of them. I am more than willing to travel up there somewhere, or you all could load up and come down to the coast for a weekend. I can try to get some discounted rooms.and a meeting hall. I have a small connection at the Imperial Palace Hotel and Casino, its not the most glamorous place but it is still okay. The summer would be great, we could make it a family event and the kids could go swimming and stuff. I am so excited!! My surgery is only 5 days away, today is my last day at wor****il after my surgery! Rhonda

Hey, that whole lunch thing is a great idea. Love it. Generally I wonder, how far is everyone from Jackson? I will be in Jackson for a court date on May 16th < I think.. its on a monday?> and I wonder maybe we can all plan a DINNER instead of a lunch? Y'all know I am so far down south I can't ever make it up north, so maybe with having so much advance warning, we all can plan to get together in JAX? ~~Andie~~

Sounds like you guys are having fun! I'd love to get together with some of you for a lun or whatever. I just have to have such advance notice to get a day off it is unreal. I pop in every now & then but mostly hang out on the main boards. I'm in Brookhaven but would love to travel to Hattiesburg, Jackson, coast etc.. for a get together. Soembody let me know if it comes together.
