Frustrated!!!
OK - I've called my insurance company. Once last week and again today. They say they have not received any pre-approval requests for this surgery. Dr. Office says they have sent it, and sent it to the correct place. They assured me it will get there, and that the ins. company is probably stalling. I was SO hoping this wouldn't happen to me. Ins company told me that once it is there, they only have 10 days to answer it and I will get a notice in the mail just like my doctor does. I did receive a benefits statement where they paid the initial consult with the clinic - so that's good.
10 days - that's all they've got!!! If I don't have something by then, I'm going to pitch me one of them thar hissy fits!!!

Kimberly,
I did the same thing ---my insurance company kept telling me they didnt have it. After about a week of this I called the surgery nurse manager and asked what the holdup was and it they didnt want to do my surgery I would find another doctor. Of course this was on voice mail. She called me right back and told me that my stuff had been turned in to insurance and she didnt know who I had talked to but it had been turned in. About 2 hours later insurance called me and told me I was denied. My paperwork went straight to my case worker and didnt go thru customer service which is where they log it into the system.
The pre-cert nurse apparantly got in touch with the insurance company and had it sent directly to my case manager. No run around available then.
Just a thought... Dont fret.. I know its hard not to but it wont be long now and you will know something.
