Hey guys! My dear big boy, Jon, is at USM until Saturday morning at the guitar festival - He is Meridian Community College's ONLY guitar major! Saturday morning at 8 am, Jon will be in the Pine Belt Guitar Competition. It will be held in the Mannoni (not sure if that is spelled right) Performance Center at USM on Hardy Street. He should preform between 8:15 and 8:30. He is the 5th contestant. I'd like to invite you H'burg folk and any others interested to watch his performance. (Yeah, I know it's early and we gonna have to get up about 4 am to make it....) I'd love to see you there and Jon would be thrilled with the support!!! Come if you can!! Thanks! Smoochies Arlies PS If you do come, please, if I haven't met you- and even if I have- , speak to me! I will be there with Jim and Em. I will be in an electric hover round named Christine.

How Special for you! I have to be at work at 9 Saturday morning, but I will try my best to be there to see and hear him as well as to meet you face to face! I'll be looking for "Christine"! Hope to see you there! Susan

John's playing was great! I don't know how he did in the competition, but I would have given him a 10! I talked to another young man that was performing later that had watched John play and he said that John was the best of the one's that had played when I had to leave. Really enjoyed meeting Arlies and her chilluns this morning. You that didn't come really missed a treat! Just wish I could have stayed longer. Susan

Hey guess what? I met this really gorgeous red-head at Jon's competition. It was like meeting somebody I already had known for a while! And what a blessing!!! That'd be you, Susan!!! Thank you so much for coming! Jon was a nervous wreck, but I know he appreciated you being there too. And believe it or not, he didn't even place! I think perhaps we might've been a bit prejudiced, but I thought he played better than all the beginners, except maybe for that real tall guy with the black curly hair. I was bettin' on at least 2nd.....I guess that's why they don't let the Mommas be the judges!!! We left before the comptetition was over. Jon called about 1 pm and it had just ended. He couldn't remember the kids names that won, - they weren't kids he knew....I thought he was teasing that he didn't place, but he didn't....oh, well, next year, he'll take 'em by storm!!!! He was great! Thank you so much and I am thrilled I got to meet you! Smooch Arlies

I am sorry I missed this. I bet it was wonderful. I had my nephew that day and he is ADHD and we wouldnt have been able to watch peacefully anyway... haha... Sounds like he did great though! I know you are very proud of him!
