Hi everyone. I've been lurking around for a while but decided that I might as well go ahead and finally join. A little about me. I've been big for about as long as I can remember. I was very athletic and outdoorsy, but it didn't seem to matter. No matter what I did, each year i'd put on a little more weight, and a little more weight until I finally I reached the size I am now. I have chronic hypertension, borderline diabetes, insulin resistance related to PCOS as well as anovulation and infertility. My PCP referred me to Dr. Sudderth in Vicksburg. All has been speeding along fine (thank goodness for small miracles). I have all of my pre-op appointments/consultations/interviews set up for March 8th and March 29th. Guess we'll see how it goes from there.

Hi Michelle, and welcome. You will find a wealth of info around this place. I myself have been fighting infertility for over 9 years now. Did all the fertility meds such as clomid and femara along with i can not tell you how many IUI's with no luck what so every. Have NEVER seen those two sweet little lines telling you that you have just been blesses. I have been overweight my entire life. I researched this surgery for over 2 years not just because of my fertiltiy probs but because i wanted to feel better about myself and look better and be healthy. I have the most fabulous husband in the entire world and I want to spend as long as possible with him whether it be with or without the children. I had my surgery open ry on Aug. 17th 2004. I am currently well hell as of today lol lol (just noticed that) I am 6 months out and down 87 lbs. And girl I can not tell you how wonderful I feel. I cant lie I am excited about trying to get pg in the next few months but I am kinda re thinking it to. lol lol I mean I still have a ways to go but I look and feel so much better I dont want to put any weight on. Dont get me wrong I will get off the bcps when the dr says i can and we will just let nature take its course but no more fertiltiy test, drugs and all that crap for this girl. I am finally at a happy place in my life and if God does not see fit to bless us with a child I know I have other reasons in my life now. I wish you the best of luck girl and please keep us up to date! Love ya Denise

I hope your appointment with Dr. Carson's goes well. You'll have to share the wealth of information you get with us. Sorry for the hijack, too but couldn't help myself Melissa

I am hooked on Chesterfields lunch now.. THANKS!!! Go at least 2 or 3 times a week. Today I had about 1 ounce of gumbo...It was so good... and I ordered the appetizer sampler and had about 5 fried mushrooms. I didnt eat the chicken fingers, cheese stix, or egg rolls. I guess it was the grease from the mushrooms. They were good though. Didnt really feel full just felt bad-- hurting. My friends swear they arent going to lunch with me anymore. I am always miserable after I eat... Last time I went I ordered the low carb chicken dinner that we got last time and I ate more rice than chicken and I hurt for hours!! I am talking HOURS! I dont think I ate that much but I am putting myself back on liquids til I can learn how to eat real food! I cant bear the misery!! Its not worth it! Guess thats the point. How is your dad today? I hope he is doing great! Talk to you later! Christine
