Comin' to Mississippi!!
Hi all you mississippians! My husband, daughter and I are coming to Mississppi. We will be down toward the coast. Biloxi, Tunica, Tupelo(??) and others-Do ya'll have any suggestions for activities? We will go to Grand Casino because of the child care-- our girl is 9 and she loves going to those playlands-rare treat for her (and us). This is a last minute trip so we haven't had time to plan. I like to shop-- do family activities, some history stuff. Thanks for ya'lls help!!!!~~~~~~July(Julie)
Julie,
You can check to see what is going on at the Coast Colliseum here in Biloxi. They have Hockey games, Ice skating, concerts. Unfortunately there is not a whole lot for kids to do here. Boomtown Casino on the backbay has a huge gameroom for the kids that has simulator rides, she may enjoy that. There is a mall down on Hwy 90 (Beach Blvd), several souvenier shops. Most of the casinos also have gift shops and different novelty stores. I hope you enjoy your time on the coast. Be sure to bring your coat because it is COLLLLLLLDDDDD!!!

the casinos are good and grand casino has supervised child care but you pay by the hour boomtown is cool but unsupervised.the beau rivage or the grand casino spa (gulfport) are a must for relaxation!!! only one recommendation park your own car DO NOT VALET!!! i used to work there is college not a good idea if u like the stuff in your car and no scratches on it. they dont have cameras everywhere they park them but other than that you should have a great time. pack warm and colder clothes sometimes we were shorts is febuary around here. we always say if u dont like the weather wait 5 minutes it WILL change!

Elvis' birthplace is in Tupelo. Don't expect much though. It is a small crackerbox!! Can't think of much to do there if you have a child with you. Woody's on North Gloster is a great restaurant. They have some of the best food in Tupelo. Of course, they have all the chain restaurants as well.
Grande Casino is nice. But can't think what to tell you to do if you have a child with you. Eat at Mary Mahoney's. Across the street from Beau Rivage. YUM. Best food I have ever eaten. Love it there.

.. AHEM...
don't call it seaworld.. its NOT heheheheheh..... take this from someone who had a membership at seaworld in San Diego, I thought this would be cool and I was highly disappointed for the price we paid. I know they have to keep their animals fed and all but they really need to get their stuff fixed and updated to attract the crowd. Its a ONE TIME thing and we went with my relatives who came to visit from Arkansas right after my surgery, I felt bad since they expected something way other than that
then again.. there's really nothing else here in this place..... if it wasnt for you wonderful people, I'd feel homesick
