POTTED MEAT HATES ME!!!!!
Today has been a rough day. It all started last night when I cooked chicken & rice in the crock pot all day so that it was mushy and nice and tender and then asparagus....Well, NONE of it set well and I got ill. This morning I got a can of potted meat and I couldn't eat it...got sick...thought okay, I just ate too fast....so slowly at lunch, I tried potted meat again....no luck....sick, sick, sick....Now my best friend, potted meat, hates me!!! So I have gone into whine mode! I called dh and told him I needed to whine and he said no, and I whined at him to please let me whine and he did....reluctantly since I am sending him by walmart to find those sugar-free fat-free jello cheese cake cups....So no food all day has stayed down....Good for the calorie count, tho....I have drank 32 ounces of kool-aid and am working on a glass of nilla milk (fat-free skim milk with a cap of vanilla flavoring and a bit of nutrasweet in it). So far it is sitting well.....Dh is also gonna bring me a potato from Wendy's since all I can think about is that jello cheese cake cups and a potato from Wendy's....Ya'll I don't whine much, but the last two days I have been putting in OVERTIME with the whines....I know it gets better....Hope everyone else is doing good. Those that can, eat something awful for me like a bologna (It MUST be Bryan!) sandwich with tomato and videlia onion dripping with mayo...sigh.....

Sorry you are sick and having such a hard time, but you are right it does get better, and I know you are thinking hopefully soon, too.
I remember the early days. I had days stuff that usually did well, did not.
I always had my milk to fall back on for hydration and nourishment. Like you, I learned to flavor it up. I would use vanilla flavoring with splenda and strawberry flavoring with some splenda. I also like the sf chocolate syryp in mine, too. So at least you can tolerate the milk which should keep you from starving.
I wish I could eat that bologna sandwich for you, but I can't. I don't do bread too much or bologna, but I will eat some crock pot chicken with garlic parmesan sauce with provolone cheese for you with some steamed broccoli on the side. How does that sound? Probably doesn't sound too good since you got sick on chicken last night, but that is what we are having for dinner tonight at my house. It is really good and chicken is really tender. You just put your chicken breast in the crock pot and cover with 2 jars of Prego Garlic Parmesan sauce and cook on low all day.
To serve, you put the chicken on the plate and place a piece of provolone cheese on top and cover with sauce and enjoy. My dh and children eat theirs over egg noodles. THey love it. Maybe when you feel better you can give this a try. It is really tender and has lots of flavor.
Hugs and hoping you feel better soon,
Melissa Taylor
I'm sorry to hear about the potted meat. You may want to try lowfat refried beans topped with shredded cheese. It was the first solid I ate after my weeks of just liquids (My doc orders only liquids for a few weeks post-op) At that moment, it was the best thing I ever tasted. Remember to keep focused on protein. Don't develop a habit of starches or sweets even if it is artificial sweetner. These are the days where it gets tough. Hang in there.
Hope you feel better,
Elesha
